Their webpage says this:

"Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential is suitable for Nissan R200 280-300Z / 200SX models and fits both S13 & S14 with equal length drive flanges"

To me this is the direct swapout for the existing Nissan helical, i.e the S chassis one?

No....the open diffs also have equal length shafts. I would presume that an LSD upgrade (ie, Quaife) would be primarily aimed at the open diff market, not replacing an already helical diff. I have no idea whether the open diff equal length shafts are the same as in the S15 helical diff or not. They might be. I really should go to the effort to find out one day.

The Just Jap listing for the Quaife diff lists it being good for all the S & R chassis diffs (and older long nose diffs too). With the only stipulation being the 29 splines. But of course, we all know that there's a bunch of different spline lengths across all that, hence my concern.

Hi im here again to try and find some information before i go and spend my hard earned buck purchasing the bits needed to upgrade my single spinning viscus diff to a cusco kaaz nismo centre is there any shops in the south east queensland or north eastern new south wales where i can take my diff and have the parts fitted and setup like preloads set etc as i would also like to replace the pinion bearings and front seal. Does anyone know where i can purchase new pinion bearings and seals so far i cant find anywhere who stocks them or there part numbers.

I would be grateful for any information so i can get full throttle and traction again

Diff lab may be able to help you out with rebuilding current diff and shimming it.

You're in NSW, just drop it off at Smithfield Diff & Gearbox, the brothers there will look after you. They know their Nissans inside out.

Yes their website sucks, but they're not short on customers either.

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
