This has already started. Its going to take some time so we can continue to discuss in here as I get stuff done.

The R35 GTR For Sale and WTB sections are now gone. I have tagged the topics with migrate-from-277-r35-gt-r-wtb and migrate-from-276-r35-gt-r-for-sale. I'm keeping a spreadsheet which I'll share at the end. If we think we made a mistake the tags will allow us to further refine the setup.

Yeah the order was intentional. I had a mental model of user engagement:

new user

gets to know their car

gets to know their local community

gets to know wider community

The first round is complete!!

You'll notice a lot of merged and migrated forums.

I havent touched Australia yet and theres some others I haven't made a decision on.

Any feedback welcome.

Prolly need a post in here where you can keep tabs of what got moved where. So, for example, 146 drivetrain and transmission just got dealt with. It would be good to know where you can find the content that used to be in there, and same same for the others that got shifted.

I mean - I can see where 146 ended up, with suspension and all, but not all such merges might be so easy to parse.

You know how I know I'm getting old? Because I feel this quote jells with me and SAU Forums, ha ha ha. I've gotten lost a few times as I had muscle memory to scroll to where I wanted on my phone and just click, now I'm lost... Ha ha ha

"I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary."

After a few weeks with the new layout, I'm thinking....

Change "Engines & Forced Induction" to "Brooom brooom pssht!"

Change "Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain" to "Rattle rattle, shriek, crunch".

Will be better.

"Rattle rattle shriek crunch", could really be RB26 Engines though...

Can we unpin a bunch of dead / irrelevant threads from:

https://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/8-engines-forced-induction/

New players at home will scroll and think this forum is dead.

Hmmm. that's a tough one. There's a lot of history bundled up in that lot.

Perhaps instead we can create a new pinned thread, called "Legacy Pinned Threads" and provide links to the these ones that will be unpinned in there. And maybe put the names of the pinned threads that are linked inside in the tags so they can seen from the outside? Or something like?

I mean, it's half a step back towards having a more complicated forum structure, without actually having it. But there's a reason that heirarchical architectures exist. They are logical, and if executed properly, make it easy to find something without having any upfront knowledge of where it would be , and without using a search function.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!

    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
