One thing was surprised about what the fuel surge I got on the track. Car was fine with streets on but as soon as I put the real rubber on and had a go, after they warmed up the car would just die into turn 4 and over Lukie Heights. I just had a new Bosche 975 fitted and they say it's mounted exactly where the old pump was. I asked about a surge tank when it was fitted but they said it wasn't needed. I dunno what to do now.

hear hear Laurence.

Adz if you have the standard pump we can set up a good swirlpot pretty cheap using the Bosch. Just have to pay for a little welding is all and some hose. Full Sik race trick man.

I used the Bendix Ultimates on my gtst as well, if you have good tyres they seem fine, I never had a fade problem.

I think the thing that makes the biggest difference is quality fluid, once it has boiled once it is stuffed for ever. We used to use the Castrol SRF in the race car but have given up on it since we had to bleed it after every race (not every weekend, every session) and use the Motul RBF 600 stuff now.

Word to the wise team. Don't spend a lot of bucks to find this is not your thing. The only people who will be impressed with your mods is yourself. Non trackies have no concept of what you do and the rest of us trackies will have loads of respect for you just for having a go. Just do the safety basics of brake pads and car fluids and get out there, but gently at first. You will sooon establish what is absolutely necessary.

So true. There will ALWAYS be people in faster cars OR slower cars but can actually steer. So no point spending lots of money only to go out there and try to match the times of others. The challenge i lay out for myself is to go out there and have the most fun... :D

People wont talk smack if you aint the fastest, or you spin...hell i actually respect ppl that are spinning, it means they are having a go. As long as its a whoops spin, not im a TOOL trying to be a drift king or hero under brakes around other cars.

And it looks like i might be out of action for a good while. At least until late October :D

Just showing R32 reliability...................................

They are getting old now.

The car is fine, my original engine was fine until i messed with it. So they are old but if you keep the maintenance up to them then they can still be reliable. Problem is finding another RB20 that has been well maintained without stripping the motor down before isntalling it.

Hahaha, so true. I remember Roy wasn't happy untill the semi's were balling up and had big blobs of rubber stuck to them. Mind you it took a 180 spin to get there

I'm keen for the HSV weekend - because on the Sat is also an MSCA sprint day at PI - and I've already paid for a day with them so I need to use it up!

We'll definitely have to get Duncan out to Phillip Island before he leaves anyways.

Maybe Roy can compete with Duncan in his rental if the 32 isnt back?

But Oct 24 - Maserati Day at Sandown has to be done also. Good day out to give you something to aspire too. You go to a day like PIARC and come first and not feel the same urge to go faster as what you do at the Maserati day where every second car goes flying past like you are standing still.

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
