So it looks like the 18th & 19th September at Phillip Island. Its a big ask but if Geoff and i get our hands dirty then im a chance. As soon as the mechanics fix my door we can get started on getting the thing running again.

And im being serious, does anyone know of a cheap daily driver getting around, Say under 2k.

Bring it on mate. I'll show you why the army trained me as a rapid combat repair specialist. As the saying goes "It doesn't take me all day to do a days work"

I'm now in the process of ensuring the turbo stays tight and getting the brake pedal height adjusted so the new MOMO carbon racing pedal set is perfectly positioned for H&T. Might even pull the master cylinder out and the calipers and service them all.

Roy and Geoff - Let me know when your getting into it and i'll be happy to lend a hand. :bonk:

I dont hink i can supply enough Real McCoys to quench your thirst :alcoholic

Any help would be great, dont forget to bring your car, as an RB26 might be going in and we may need a few odds and ends off your car to get mine running. Troy wants the RB20 replaced, Roy wants an RB26

Roy vs Troy , who will win :fight!: ...truth is its not really up to us, it depends largely on circumstance and where things fall :P

*shakes fist violently at Roy for taking up too much of Geoff's expertise*

Maybe the two of you can help me with my RB25 when it lands in a month or so.

When are the Super Fun Happy Slider crew going to take on Team Wang... a bit of healthy rivalry is good.

Your GTS can go up against me, you will only have to last more then one lap and they will have me smoked :goddam:

Do you need a nice TD06 for your RB25 :P

Shan we'll be done well before then mate. All help is welcome too Chris. We were a good team Saturday night :P. Without your comments I would have taken heaps longer to start bashing the wastegate with the hammer :D

Hammer...why im outraged...how dare someone show my car so little respect. Oh actually its not like you dented my door and punched my sump in or anything?!?!?! :slap:

The plan is hatched, just have to suss when the door is getting fixed and see if the spanner session gets done before or after. Im thinking before otherwise i could be waiting to late in the month.

I found the RB74/Comp2 combo great at Wakefield, no real issues all day and I did almost 90 laps. I'm using DBA4000 slotted rotors front/back on my R33 GTS-t and they weren't dusty at all. They did squeel under light braking but were fantastic... when hot. For my 5km daily trips they were overkill so i've gone back to some cheap 2nd hand standard nissan pads which... don't have any bite but do work well enough from the very first stop.

Sounds like PI is quite a high speed trap... I think I need atleast 5 pairs of underwear for the day going on the speeds you guys were doing. In the wet you would have had to drag me into the car :P

Yep, get it done early rather than later. I imagine the people involved could take quite some time to do your repair..... unfortunatly.

I'll be sure to bring along the cheap burbon.

Oh and piss off you aint getting any bits off my beast.

will a TD06 25G plus custom lowmount manifold, wastegate and hybrid intercooler setup do :P coz that's what I got sittin in my garage atm waiting for the engine and a PFC... got the PFC tuning software but no PFC lol

btw nark just got his ceffy so the Slider crew will be out in force soon.

I've just ordered a Misfiring system by Grid for the setup I'm doing... hehehe while all u wangers are lagging I'll be put-putting whenever I shift :P

LOL... with enough corner speed you dont have to worry about lag, its only those wearing skirts and high heels who tippy toe thru the twisties that need anti-lag :box:

What do you mean by lag? At a place lieke PI you wont have to worry, i found with very little chance for practice i could drive around the poor boost response of my turbo setup. I have jack all lag, but pretty weak boost threshold.

As for while you are cornering, ppl that know way more then me have my car setup so it turns very nicely whilst im on the throttle (feathered not to the floor) so power delivery is nice and progressive on corner exit.

A place like Winton, ummm , forget about it. I think any mildly modded Skyline would be frustrated around there as there isnt too much opportunity for wide open throttle blasts.

I know I sound like an opportunist, but umm I've got a spare set of RB74s. Umm does anyone want to buy them? :P
Depends how much meat is left and how much you want;) Front and rear?

a misfiring system helps you coming out of corners too, not just on wide open throttle blasts... basically it evens out the response of a car, giving it the best of both worlds, speed of a turbo and constant response like an N/A (which I'm used to).

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
