LMAO @ GT400R, yeah tru ***n sick lineup at GK!!

Sorry to hear what happened i agree with these lads go 4 nines!

On a side note, i didnt make it to MAS this weekend, but i bet my balls that POS 1000hp S15 didnt make it to the rollers!!?!?! Thats wrong, making all these claims but never a dyno run!

Im glad that u guys dont brag but use the dyno and strip as proving a point, not BS. U guys are the forefront of the powerful cars in OZ, keep up the good work and dont let 1 lousy radiator pipe hold u back!!!

Sorry for my little sook, it just really sh!ts me when this S15 was touted @ 1000hp back @ show off and didnt get on the dyno? How can u do that?(+ how can it be an M-Spotrs car if its got a trial front bar/kit?) While u guys are modest dont say a thing, get to MAS and almost rip the rollers off the friggen machine!!

Anyways, all the best!

apologies Dave .. someone mentiond oil ..flames ..  and on the vid .. i wasnt actually there ..not much to my knowledge was said about nos "backing up" on this post ..until after my remarks.. anyways...  .. i just assumed it was something more .... although it wasnt really up in the revs at the time...

with your nos setup  its basically on a ON OFF switch .. not like momentary or anything that  u can physically hold down? and can i ask how many bar of boost do u run to make the big figures ?

anyways regardless of that ..tough car ..good to hear no other damage and congrats on the trophy...look forward to seeing it haul ass into the 9's .. and take back that autosalon crown (whoever buys it thats if u still sell it)

Later

Matt

No harm done Matt. All is well. I just ask that people not comment on what happened unless they were there or know what happened. The only people who are going to know are the ones directly involved. I ask that you find out from myself or someone CLOSELY involved, not some spectator in the front row. They know diddly too. Rumors don't help anyones cause and for the fact I want to sell the car, the rumors of a weak engine are not what I want coz it isn't.

The NOS runs off a full throttle solenoid. When the switch is activated, the NOS is armed. When the Autronic detects the throttle is at 100%, the NOS is fired into the plenum and mixed with the appropriate amount of fuel. In this case, the firing switch was stuck in an on position so the NOS fired into the plenum as soon as the arming switch was thrown causing the NOS to be fired too soon without the appropriate mix of air and fuel resulting in the explosion.

Thank Christ (not you PranK) for silicone hosing otherwise you would have seen the plenum fly into the crowd.

Again condolences Dave at least we had a nice cold coke ready for you to sit down and relax after the episode.

As for the dyno readouts Sam is exactly right just because it don't read as high as habibs dyno does not mean its not incorrect or correct who gives a **** as long as they make noise everyone is happy.

not saying that ice's dyno is leb spec either

Yeah, thanks for the Coke!! That was the second drink I had all morning beside the Red Bull at 9am.

As for the dyno, it was reading fine. Ross' car made a tad more on the RWD dyno that it did on ours. Nige's car was running less boost than last time round as there weren't any cars out there to battle against considering Ross' car is already an Ice Performance car.

speaking of selling the car... what happened to skyline-steve and his cheque

Don't worry bout this Shan. All is well and we are in duscussions.

An update will come next week. As a favour to me, let it go and let's not speak of it.

that s15 from oh performance was at technik last week or so ...made 380 at the rear wheels ....and that was about it. 1000hp at the wheel i dont think the turbo can support that much can it? that over 1300hp at the flywheel or near abouts. Chops M8 just chops.

Matt

Sure that S15 was at Technik last week?? I heard james had rebuilt the motor again but didn't have the box in the car?? Just put the 1000 hp motor back in to show off....

I doubt we will ever see this car on a dyno in front of the public???

only going on what my m8 said .. he was at technik the same day ... seems to be far too much hype around that thing .... and more often than not its sitting at Nismo Performance workshop all the time .... dont thing its turned a wheel in anger just yet ...if its anything its cracked up to be .. it should be a weapon .. i just wish Fred Bruno wouldnt hype it up so much ....

"I personally think them dyno operators are hack's and alot of people with the bigger HP cars know it thats why they all dont go on there which is a shame really"

hhmmm...shame the person that thinks this didnt have enough guts to say it to our faces at the show.

i think that comment is ridiculous.... that was not the reason i got from owners who didnt want to go on and I asked them myselves as the organiser.

Big thanks go out to Dave, James, Ash and Mark for your help at the show. You helped make it all work probably as good as it ever could. Thanks again and see you guys soon.

Yeh phat R33 and myself made the trip over and we were really looking forward to seeing it reclaim the record. was unfortunate what happened, but luckily no major damage!

on that note all us 15 platinum boys were on the top row 2WD grandstand watching, i stood up to start filming, nearly fell off when it popped!

lmao see dave duck for cover... never seen him move so fast... well... not on foot anyway :D

Andrew? You're still alive!! Thanks for all your help making our jobs easier. We were speaking to Damian after the show and he was markedly impressed in the way things went. We finished on time, if not a bit earlier and all the cars which were scheduled to run, did. Those who weren't around at their agreed times didn't get to run but that'll happen when your on a tight timetable.

If you guys need any help next time round, give us a buzz and we'll be there.

Take care.

Dave.

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
