Angry, Upset, Bite The Dust Hard !!!!

Recommended Posts

As an SAU VIC member, i have always try my best to behave on the road also try sending the message across to other import drivers. We love our car, I LOVE MY SKYLINE TO BITS but it happend. My car is a WROTE OFF.

While trying to help a friend out, while trying to comfort a friend, my Girlfriend always tell me that i love my friends more than her.........My FRIEND CRASHED MY CAR.

It was his birthday, he doesn't have a GF, no one was around..ect..he called me up while i was taking the girlfriend out for dinner,he asked if i could take him out for a coffee also discuss about how i told him there is a position vacancy at work to help his brother get a job. After i've dropped my GF off, i pick him up and we went for a coffee at the Glen. Then, he wanted to drive home so i let him and i jumped on the passenger side. When we got near his house, there was a curve and somehow i think he took the curve too fast ( because it happend within a flash ), all i remember was seeing the car going sideway and toward a POLE FAST.

I SCREAMED out his name LOUD, all i could think was my GF and my family, BANG.

I think i got a black out, until i realised what has happened, i undo my seat belt, jump out and ran around bare foot to see if my friend was alright or not. Lucky he was alright but his leg jamed as you could imagine the impact, i look down and there was fire under the front. I knew that i had the fire exstinguisher somewhere then click! It's under the driver seat which is now unaccessable. I had it there for track and other purpose but NEVER thought of this.

Lucky the fire die out as i was yelling out you got to get out of the car ( thank god ), also LUCKY that i was alright...well my whole body ache while i'm writing this. My feeling at the moment? I can not explain. SHIT part was i saved just enough money for a good alarm system to go for INSURANCE meaning car is NOT YET insure. When his MUM came around then SHE TOLD ME HE HAS NO LICENSE, he just lost it and didn't tell me.

I'm a blue collar worker so i'm so so sad that $20000 just got blew away, but i'm happy that we both are alright consider the car is WROTE OFF. Then again i'm worrying cos' my friend lost his license before that.

Sorry about the long post but i'm so sad, it's almost 3am but i couldn't sleep cos' i'm so sad. Also my body hurt, i've just apply for a purchasing position at work and i'm 80 percent believe that i'll get it. I planed out everything, gonna sell the car at the end of the year, save up and buy a GTR to keep for good( meaning no mods ).....just got CAM passport book in the mail. Looks like i'll just go around track on foot. God bless all of us, the SAU VIC members. Play it safe and sound, becareful guys, always have your seat belt on because it just saved one poor soul.

Right, well there goes another of nissan's finest. Are you alright though, i mean have you been to a doctor at all. you said you blacked out, i'm no doctor but that can be dangerous if you havent been checked out. That really blows what you "friend" did to your car, i cant believe he didnt tell you that he didnt have a licence, then have the nerve to ask to drive your car, that just fu(ked up.

I wish you the best in the future, and hope that somehow this mess with an uninsured car and a driver with no licence driving your car gets sorted out, you dont deserve to walk away from this with nothing, i think it would be a real shame if you did.

Good Luck

Dude sorry to hear that.

It's good that you are okay though.

In my opinion, and this may sound a bit harsh, but your mate owes you a car. That's only fair.

But I'm glad you are okay. I'd go see a doctor too. Concussion can come on late.

KOALA! dude im glad to hear ur ok!

that sux arse! ur car was in great nick too... man whats going to happen with ur car? how bad is it? is the chasis bent? i know what i would be doing to a friend that did that to me... altho i dont let my mates drive my car unless its the daewoo  id be taking them to a surgeon and selling a kidney and a limb or 2 until i had enough for a new car.

If he was a good friend I can't figure out why he did not tell you he had lost his licence. He sounds like a worm and you should squash it. Farkin get you line back on the road by A. asking him or his family to PAY all the damages B. Sue,Sue,Sue his ass...

Has he even offered to pay? If not all at least some of the damages.

Bad luck, you sound like a very forgiving person. All the best I hope it works out OK in the end.

** What were you doing driving around without insurance?

Im so sorry to hear that, that isn't good of your friend to drive your car with no lisence in the first place.

I was recently in an accident also, im thankful to god it didn't turn ugly.

Keep your head up and what doesn't kill you only makes you a stronger better person.

Take Care

Mark

Thank alot guys, i would not and could not blame my friend for anything really, its' just SHIT HAPPENED, i'm sure he doens't want it to happen either. I don't know if the car is repair able, it's sitting at PeterMack tow truck centre in Springvale and these guys are WELL KNOWN for taking shit off your car.

I've just rang Nigel up to see if he can arrange something and Nigel gonna get his friends to come around and take the car away from there. I think the engine still ok, box, diff, cooler...ect except for the panels and stuffs cos' they have to cut a few things to get my friend out.

Once again thank alot guy.

    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
