I have several different tripods/mounts including a nice new Manfrotto suction-based mount which I'll be trialing in (and on) Golgo this weekend.

If I make it down to Sandown I'm willing to let you guys borrow some stuff as I tend to handhold my still shots, and I don't care much for video. :P

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to get my hands on one of those chasecam camera mounts that has both a clamp fitting and suction fitting to place in my car for the 24th. If they arrive before I'll bring em along :D otherwise I'm just bringing my camera :P

nice one greg ur a champ... u not coming??

Hey does anyone know where I can get one of those mini-cams that attach to your normal camera. Like the thing they stuck to the side of my car at the Dutton? I've tried looking them up but don't even know what Im looking for and can't find anything.

Cause that way you can secure the cam through the passenger seatbelt legally and gaff the "mini cam" either to the side or front of your car or the dash looking at the track or even at the driver (they did that at the Dutton - looks cool). The side shots of the car at the rear wheel watching the HICAS work look awesome as well.

I want one!

Hey inark have you actually ordered one yet?? I'm trying to order mine today but no responce as yet :P I'm not getting the actual cameras they supply, although it is a poss. for future, as they need rc cables between the chasecam camera and your camera and I cbf running rc cables throughout my car. Instead I'm just ordering the clamp/suction mounts (they have a std tripod camera mount) and fitting my digi camera to it. Prob not brave enough to strap it outside my car as yet so just going to set it up for an incar view and see how I go.

not yet.... im saving up for 2 conecam setups... so i can have 2 angles at once and a headrest cam mount... my mates ordered thru them before... he got a suction mount and headrest cam mount... took a while cause it was in the states but they respond to emails... eventually :P

Na see this what I am after. Very cool. Can be put anywhere.

Andrew, thats an excellent idea. I'll do a bit of research on this. We can have multiple cameras on multiple cars and capture *a lot* of good footage this way. Prolly the most efficient way to get in-car footage to supplement all the other footage.

Shivam.

But I could get one in time for Sandown (unlike my harness.)

I don't know how good a picture you expect from a camera stuck to the side of a car / top of a helmet but I'm tipping it aint going to be amazing.

shut up about the harness fool... bloody whiner :D

ive seen the footage that comes from the cone cams... its good.

For reference you can see this image of my car from the Dutton where I have one of these bullet cams stuck to the side of my car just above and behind the front wheel. All held on with blue tape. The camcorder was secured to the passenger seat (via the seatbelt) and the mic was placed on the floor of the passenger side right up near the engine.

Afterwards (the next day) the stuck the camera on the dash and faced it towards Gerald who was driving so all you could see was his movements.

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
