Inasnt did spin. I might have a rb26 but it only has 211rwkw and crap tyres, nearly no brakes on the last lap and kyb street shocks with a blown rear with no other suspension mods so I think 1.31.86 on the last lap is a pretty good time considering geoff managed a 1.31.60. The one under geoff on the time sheet.

Good times mate. I know the feeling with the crap shocks, mine are stock and the RR is shot so the car is somewhat underdamped. Makes it tricky. I felt I would have done a 1:30.xx had I not had to contend with the tools in the TVR and the BMW M3, who I gave 100m onto the main straight and the wanker held the inside line into turn one. Competely wasted the session. Can't wait for the opportunity to get decent coilovers.

The attitude of these types of people are, "I have the cash, will do what I like in my new M3 (b/c an M3 makes me an excellent driver), screw you and the fact that you're faster".

As a result of these fools I didn't get one flying lap in that last session :D

I expect it is more a case of 100% concentration on getting their car around the track so no idea what is going on behind them. Trust me, this attitude has nothing to do with the car, it is just that those cars were fast enough for it to be a problem for you.

Even F1 drivers have the same problem. But the fact is, if you want clear laps you make them yourself if the other people are not coming to the party. Slow down on the back straight or somewhere that won't affect your laptime and make enough space so that you will not catch up with them. You had three flying laps to sort it out...

It is exactly the same problem you get on the Great Ocean Road etc...

yeah, maybe the case... might have jumped down their throats abit, but it is still a common courtesy to let the faster cars through. At one point the TVR had three cars in tow...

I did end up waiting at the back straight for 1/4 lap to try and clear them, but was too late and didn't get a full flying timed lap :D

Yeah 100% with you on that, they should let the faster cars past.

Though that does mean that they have to wreck their flying laps too.

I used to always try and go out last in the session and wait as long as possible on the warm up lap. Then unless there was a very big speed difference I used to always get a clear run. The problem you had happened too often for me to try any more and there are always trackday n00bs.

No the sessions were based on expected lap times and colour coded, so what were they doing going that slow. It was all I could do not to shove through on the corners but we all agree to be polite and give way. I pulled almost the full length of the front straight on the TVR before Dandenong corner on the first lap and that is just criminal as 2 others were in front of me. I told the guy in the TVR if straight line speed was all he wanted, go annoy a drag strip.

His excuse was we weren't trying hard enough to pass and weren't close enough so he didn't give way. On top of it all the flaggies let him continue his crap.

Not close enough????

I almost tonked him about 5 times through the corners - I was seriously standing on the brakes not to rear end him b/c his braking points were so early!!!

I was actually starting to back off because I was worried that I would get too excited around a corner and collect his slow-arse back end... :Paranoid:

Here are some my friend took with a slr but i had to drop the size down alot to make them a reasonable size

On every session I had to overtake most of the cars in my group like the escort, 260z, mx5, celica and that old jag, but most times i approached them near the straights and they waved me past but still slowed me down a bit through the corner and ontop the straights.

      Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics

      Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since.
