I believe Greg uses a Nikon Digital SLR...

Looks like that Manfrotto camera mount is going to good use Greg :(

Nikon D70 I guess?

I'm going to get an EOS300D later this year / early next year, hopefully if I come on a cruise I can get shots like that.

Greg, can you post the EXIF info for some / all of those photos? :)

Thanks for the comments guys, makes the pain of waiting and setting up the shots worth it!

For those after photos of their cars, PM or email me for details.

As for the tech heads who need to know everything....

* All the photos were taken on the Nikon D70 @ 18mm

* I use a mount to hold the camera steady (no hanging out of windows)

* Exposures are normally a few seconds

* No Photoshop trickery other than some small colour/level adjustments (which all digital camera users should learn)

And Mavric, good spot! (grrr)

Looking at the pic, i would say they are custom mounted. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

hey what size defi guages does james have? ive got 60mm ones but ive tried to see if they will fit where he has them but nup.... too big

does he have the 53mm ones or has he had them custom mounted?

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
    • Ah coolant overflow, previous discussions make way more sense now lol.
    • ok. Yea, then I would need to remove the turbo and weld an adapter on to it instead, if I fuc* this one up.
