Hi guys

Just wondering if any of you know how to remove the driver's side mirror for my cefiro. I've got to replace the driver's side mirror from convex to flat for ADR specifications.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

David

it simply pops out upon breakage...then gets copied by a glass cutting machine, this is best done by a compliancer, trust me... you will, WILL stuff it up... do NOT go down this road...

ABOOORRRRRTTTT!!!!

Cheers guys,

After your advice i'm going to be getting the place that did my side intrusion bars to do it, i have to get them to do my driver's side seatbelt coz i have no buckle and no one can source me a used one from a wrecker, apparently its illegal to sell used seatbealt buckles :P

I'll post up pics of my ride as soon as its back from the paint shop.

Cheers

David

oz_cefiro, I'll check at the office to see if we have any seatbelts available that'll fit a ceffy :P in VIC you don't have to change seatbelts to get compliance cert on a 15yr old, so we might not, but its worth checking as some SEVS workshops have spare ones from the cars they change seatbelts on.

As for mirror it can't be that hard surely... just use a very wide knife like a cleaver to wedge into the mirror and pop it out. Heat is a good thing too so do it on a hot day or heat your mirror with a heat gun first. Common mistake is to use a screwdriver, which is thin and narrow... it has less contact area with the glass, so it exerts more pressure at one spot. Spread the contact area out over the glass and it'll pop out no probs.

Cheers funkymonkey, its the same over here, under the 15 year rule the seat belts don't need to be changed, but when it arrived my car didn't have the driver's side buckle. I've been told by other guys on this forum that R32 buckles also fit, if you can source me one in victoria, i have family that live their and they could pick it up from you. Do you know how much i would be looking at for a seatbelt buckle, i also need the bolt that screws it into the seat.

Cheers

David

its actually safer taking it out with the mirror off the car cause its held in by about 5 clips... so yeah taking it to someone else to do is a much better idea :P
