AlphA
My question is what would you go for.. You can get a very nice 2000 model R34 in 4 door Turbo for just over $23'000 from http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/ *I have never imported but from looking at the saving you get would think about it. Or a 1990 R32 GTR 5 speed for Under $20'000 The GTR is also from http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/ Insurance is no problem.. I think it comes down to the age of the car... a GTR is damn fast.. and a 1990 thats imported could have done alot of k's.. alot more than id care to know.. a R34 Turbo would be damn new and how much kw do they put out in stock form? - Anyway..any help would be great as im buying in the next 3 months. :kick: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/ Share on other sites
Soppagas
R34 Turbo from mem have round the 205 kw at the fly. I looked into using prestige myself. There is always extra costs. If it says 23000 g then i would allow probably up to 26,000 to get it on the road and fix all the little things. Sounds good but just realise there will be more costs then what the price they state. anyway good luck I myself would go for the 32 gtr. but i would be lookin at the more expensive ones. like 30k . means less u have to do to it later and the condition will be better. 32vspecII
go the 34 newer nicer 4 doors for flexibility still pretty quick and always responsive to mods heaps cheaper in the long run but id try to find one already complied here for piece of mind Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/#findComment-1135379 Share on other sites
RB20LagWagon
It depends if you have the ability to fix things yourself and want a real performance car get the gtr, if you cant and just want something that goes ok and looks good get the 34. Soppagas
4 doors are alot more pratical though. I had a 2 door r33 and it drove me insane. got me a r33 4 door now and love it Would have prefered the r34 cause they look better but came down to the fact that i didn't want to spend that much at the time. AlphA
I thought so, its still a good deal importing, a GTR for just over 20k.. The R34 has a bit more power in stock form than I expected.. With a few mods it would do rather well.. 4 Door R34 Turbo 5 speed in White.. thats my plan.. RB20LagWagon
though on paper the gtr and gtt have the same power, in real life, they dont, not even close. Soppagas
way to go. If i had the money at the time i would have done the same. I am doing a manual conversion on mine straight after chrissy. If you want 4 wheel drive beast then gtr is the way. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/#findComment-1135406 Share on other sites
ix9
4 doors are alot more pratical though. I had a 2 door r33 and it drove me insane. Don't know about you, but I bought my car for ME, not for taxi'ing my mates around in the back If they don't like it cramped then they can walk I say! P.S. Go the 4door R34 - heaps newer, nicer, and can be pretty fast with the right mods too - not to mention the fact there aren't many around in perth at al! AlphA
Its funny, I thought id go straight for the GTR but taking a step back and looking at it.. Its a R34... 32vspecII
yea no real difference in the 4 door insurance is this the one your looking at on prestige ? 2817 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T 4-door Auto 83,000 White $24,500 21 Dec 04 cause its the only one I can find . if you want a different one budget a bit more for a manual . although the triptronic autos go quite well Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/#findComment-1135453 Share on other sites
AlphA
True its an Auto, I thought it was manual.. triptronic autos are ok, but thats going to make me hold off.. a true manual would be what im after. Mind me asking how much you picked up your 95 GTST 4 door for arkon? Import or local? JXL
dunno about auto cause from mem if auto dies its a shitload more to fix than manual. really depends on what you are going for becuase the R34 would be a cruiser car and going for the look thing while the GTR is flat out balls strip weapon.. Generally heaps of the GTRs that are coming in for around the $20K mark are heavily modded saving you money if you want more power later. I'd personally go the GTR for GTR's sake. 33Spec2
an R32 is getting to be a very old car these days around 15 years old which means problems with alot of things why go for something old when you can get something new youll save in the long run my opinion Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/#findComment-1136794 Share on other sites

raasclaat
opinion is right..I think the R32GTR is the best shape personally, and it has the performance to match. As nice as a new 34GTT would be, i would be suckered into the R32 - there are clean examples of them able for import Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/59519-r34-turbo-or-r32-gtr/#findComment-1136940 Share on other sites
