couple of years back id parked up on the side of the road and had some kid come over ( about 16 id say) and ask me what "stage" turbo kit i had in my R32 GTR

I told him they were just stock and that we werent in "NEED FOR SPEED"!!!!

I also noticed that the bogans loved my VX clubby, but do not appreciate the skyline at all haha

First off you need to picture me, typical Anglo Australian, 90+ Kgs and a goatee (White as toothpaste and look meaner than your 'wanna-be' local bikie gang)

Stop at a set of lights outside of an event that had just finished, Kids (teens) everywhere.

3 little euro kids walk past the front of my care to cross the street and i hear this kid (no older than 13 y/o) "white guy should give that car to someone that would know how to drive it, WOGS FOR LIFE!!"

The most common line i get is "Do a burn out!"

lol at the kids hehe "do a burnout" "is it turbo" "does it go fast" but hey you're not exactly talking to an adult so dont be harsh, either ignore or go with it hehe. like this "yes kid its fast and it will do 400 km/h" their response would be "wow you're so cool when i grow up i want to be like you" you send them off with "stay off the streets and in school". see you've just made a difference, that kid will probably leave school the next day and become a shoplifter then take up ice and lsd while losing their virginity to an aids infested hobo or as they say these days "ganga".

couple guys at work are always asking when my car will be finished and back on the road. sometimes they hang shit and sometimes interested talking about the car as they dont know much about imports.

other day one guy comes up to me and says he has decided my car is now a piece of crap and waste of time as someone went to drifts and saw a 33 with an LS1. then explaining why would i want some turbo 6 crap when i could have a real engine put in it...

I hate it when bogan trash approach you and the follow conversation ensues:

"is it a GTR?"

"No"

"Well it's shit then."

"well what do you drive?"

"A commodore"

"is it a supercharged V8?"

"No but.."

"f**k off then"

I don't get the stigma, that unless you drive a fully hektik 600HP+ GTR, your skyline is apparently shit. But the bogan who tells you this is trying to defend their clapped out VT commodore that has an ecotec in it.

Most turbo skylines will beat most cars in the road.

Haha i just realised i had a awesome one from this old dude at autobahn in springwood.

I have 18" CR-Kai's with out the centre caps.

Old Dude: (he points at rear wheels) hey buddy you need get down to the wreckers asap and get some hub caps your hub bearings are exposed they'll rust out.

Me: :S No they are meant to be like that

Old Dude: walks of disgusted shaking head

Had 2 different non skyline owners give nice comments about my car, with one of them owning a V8 ute :) and another whose bro owns a S13. So at least some out there do appreciate skylines.

Pulled up on thr intersection off henly beach road and west trc,

Firstly im about as wog looking as you can get for a wog!

Two kids in a vl calais,

OhhhhMaaaaahhhhGAwwwd bro thats killa ...there killla ayyy

Me and the missus absoultly pisssed our selves laughing thr whole way home!

(it was a fully hectic situation)

girl in my grade was talking to me about my new skyline (r33 gts) :)

girl: is your car a manual

me: ofcourse, you know me i wouldnt drive an auto

girl: does that mean it makes that special sound when it changes gears? or is that not in yet.

me: thats turbos only lol

girl: ohh :( dissapointed.

me: Its called a Blow Off Valve it gets rid of backed up air pressure from turbo

girl: that sound makes me froth :P

LOL

Just moved into a new house

Neighbours from across the road

Guy: nice car you got there

Me: thanks

Guy: yeah I said to my missis the other day what a nice mecedes it was and it looks so good . But then our son said 'no dad it's a skyline ' I had to go and look at the badge before I believed him '

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
