Hi guys,

After failing the pits with my triple plate ive decided to sell it (sold) as i didnt really like it anyway. Looking for something more streetable that wont slip with boost and wont have winging women or pit inspectors!

I guess it all depends on application and power,

has n1 turbos, hks cams, and 3.5" exhaust, looking to run about 1.2bar

Have been suggested a single plate, 9puk clutch plate with a heavy duty pressure plate. Would this be ok for street application with the power the motor above will give? Will be taking it to the drags of course as well so it needs to cop some 7k clutch dumps :)

Only other thing i can think of is a twin plate but ive heard some of these are as harsh as triples.

What are you guys running in your gtrs?

no diffinatley an osgiken twin plate

even me i can drive my dads gtr and i have only been driving manual for like 4 weeks,

this is cluthc feels like a single plate but then wehn ure give it to it, it responds and works like a twin plate

Just going through the clutch shuffel at the moment. I am building a RB30/26 combo and am aiming for 350 rwkw. Been looking at the pros and cons of mulit plates. Dont like the confilcting info that Im being fed. Not to mention the cost ! Finally found a place that does a sprung single plate mulit puck plate with a pressure plate that clamps 1650kg. This combo has a slightly heaver feel on the peddal and has minimal shudder . The pucks on the plate are riveted on so you can replace them for a decient price( not around $1500 for most multi plates ) This seemed to convince me and the price which came in at around $800.

I can recomend the OS Giken twin plates. good sh1t. I imagine the ORC ones are equally good.

both big jap companies that have lots of experience building clutches to suit GTRs.

I originally put in a 9 puck single and it disintergrated on me at Winton (circuit racing). Plate cracked in half basically.

Am now running the Nismo G Max twin and think it's super. My car is about 325rwkw's. (GTR)

I too am thinking of the Nismo G Max twin... as i don't see my clutch lasting more than Sandown...

where did you get it / how much all up installed?

ive swapped out the triple for a xtreme 9puk with heavy pressure plate and its pretty much perfect for street, ive done a few dumps and it doesnt slip mind you im at stock boost. If it does ill get a twin later..

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
