I took a Nissan R33 1994 GTST for a test drive, was an Auto and I didnt think an Auto would be that great at all.. Little did I know it totaly kicked ass$ss, Turbo kicked in at the normal 3500rpm and I almost wet myself, torque, gear changes in the Auto everything was awesome. I joined this forum the very next day.

Mods it had = 3" exaust + Filter

Im now about to get a GTST R33 within the next week.

Hmm, well my first was a stock standard R33 Gts-t, was not modified...the guy bought a lemon basically, was in really bad condition, anyway, he let me take it for a spin...

i really like the way it sat on the road, it seems to be a very predictable chassis, controllable oversteer and great "bum feel" hehe...i diddn't mind it, just not enough usable power band IHMO...so as for power and torque, it wasnt very surprising...

Second, however was a really sckmik orange with gold pearl R32 Gts-t in QLD, hmm nice, was high flowed and suspension work, upped boost, now that was a nice machine, liked the torque and power of that let me assure you...

Orange R32

...speaking of which, does any1 know this car or the owner may be on the forum???

so now i have stepped up once again, and am soon to have my 32 GTR :( i just love the thrust back you get in the seat of a skyline :) hehe, why would you want to drive anything else...

Firsy time(w/turbocharged skyline) was about 3-4 months ago....

- R32 GTS-t w/RB25DET, stock boost, only mods were exhaust & POD Filter

- I couldnt believe how quick and stable this thing was! Biggest supprise! The feeling of boost coming on was awesome! So stable, even with stock suspension tramlined around tight turns fast.....I was smiling all day after that...hehe :( (Now gonna be on the lookout for an R32 GTS-t end of year/start of next yr - SO BEAUTIFUL)

Steve.

my first ride in a skyline, was in an R32 GTS-t, totally stock exept for an exhaust and 12psi boost. It was raining that day so we had the tail out everywhere! I was previously looking for a 180SX after a mate took me for a ride in one, but the skyline changed my mind instantly. So yeah, the power and torque really blew me away. The stability and handling was very impressive too. I was hooked and within 2 months i'd bought my own!

thats excellent to hear champ, my mate bought a stock 180, which is now heavily modded, its awesome, but im super happy with my skyline, they are awesome cars. just take care of it and yourself and you'll get along fine.

cheers

Linton

The first time I drove a skyline was a mates he had and Red 95 GTST, before this I new of skylines but hadn’t really payed attention to them until this night. We had like 4 people in the car, and when I put the foot down and felt myself being pushed into the seat and could hear the turbo spooling up, I was buzzing, I loved it. Then again after driving a telstar for 5 years anything would seam quick. It was only running about 10psi and exhaust was a little bigger then standard. When I jumped out I said to my self I’m getting a skyline my mind was made up. My mates kept on telling me “get a VP SS or VS SS”. But how much can you do to a commodore.

Have never looked back. Go the SKYS

my first was a stock 33gtst and i was so disappointed its was guttless because it was a fresh import from the car yard.

my mate convinced me to try a few more the next was 33gtst with exhaust pod and 10 pounds then i was impressed....

now i own 2........ mmm skylines

oh-ho-yeah... the first was my GT-R32... such fun.

what can i say... im addicted to boost. its almost stock, but on a cold night, it feals like an F1 racecar...

one of the first times i opend it up, i remember like it was a week ago... hang on a sec, it was... i know it was stupid, but i just had to. i was fanging it, and i got up to about 170 and realized what i am doing, then backed off. the G.O. and the WHO are amazing

In 2001 I was introduced to full throttle on a 750hp midnight purple r33 GTR, which the owner paid a cool $130,000 for.. It was a nutcase, and also the first r33 skyline i'd ever seen, i knew nothing about skylines and had no idea Nissan could make something so bonkers! That was then.. :(

first one i drove was an R33 auto (didn't want an auto, but they were shoving the keys at me so i thought, why not) and it felt good but i couldn't really give it bit..

second one was a manual R33 and he let me take it out on a back road - and this was the first time i actually put my foot down in a turbo skyline and OMG!! I knew I'd made the right choice :(:D

ordered one thru an importer soon after ;)

First time was back in 2001ish in an R33 GTST with front mount, huge exhaust, hi-flow/aftermarket turbo and boost controller. The thing hammered, and I knew I definately had to have a skyline after.

About a year later I still didnt have my skyline and went for a ride in an R32 GTR with N1 turbos, exhaust, front mount. That thing scared me sh!tless and 12 months later I had my own R32 GTR sitting in the garage (now running ~330kw at the wheels).

first time was in JETT R32 GTR That ran a 10.8!! FARKKK./.. i think it went by me.. arr fark $hit... and grabbing the door handle.. im sure mirko could confirm that hehe .. hsit myself.. i got abit of whiplash! well shock mostly.. makes me want a big single but i went for the n1s for the street... big single on drag though.. slams you back...

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
