Ok.

The next Round of the WRX Club and also SAU Vic Club Championship is at Winton Raceway on Saturday April 16.

Entry forms available here:

http://www.wrx.com.au/motorsport/forms/Win...160405entry.doc

Sup Req's

http://www.wrx.com.au/motorsport/forms/Win...0405supregs.doc

Cost to Enter: $110.

Driver Training Only: $100 (non timed).

Winton is the best "learning" track on the Vic circuit as there is basically very little to hit and damage a car with, the overall speeds are quite low (most won't get over 200km/hr) and there are minimal gear changes per lap (I usually do 4 a lap!). This leaves you to heaps of time to concentrate on lines and braking points.

It's the perfect track to try and find your limit. You find spins and off track excursions are common here!

It's also the home Track of Team Wang Racing! :(

Some people may be interested to make a long weekend of it as Fridays are open for free practise. $100 for Fridays and you get 20mins of track time every hour. CAMS licences are NOT required for the Friday practise nor things like fire extinguishers etc, so if some people are going to do it and you have been thinking about joining track days but haven't been sure if it's for you then these open Fridays are a perfect chance to give it a shot.

Also - I will quickly point out - I know there are the carrot's of Maserati Club @ Sandown and PIARC @ PI the week before and if you are thinking of missing this round and doing one of those due to costs - this will be the last "SAU Vic Club Championship Round" until mid June.

We are not doing the Hill Climb at Morwell in May as part of the Club Championship.

Because the track surface is not up to grade IMO. People can still run there if they wish but SAUVic's stance is that we won't be encouraging people to do so for safety reasons.

Surely you saw the result of Chris's car. Yes it was a drift day and he was a spanner - but in a hill climb you are actually trying to push faster and it's just too dodgy.

Just cause you won go-karting doesn't make you a hero.......

:jk:

I was going to look at attending this round as a flaggy so as I said if people wanted to go to it then thats fine.

BUT - thats the Hill Climb. This threads about WINTON. Lets worry about Morwell when the time comes.

:)

Ok - this is just over 2 weeks away now so we are going to book some accommodation in Wang for those that want it by the end of the week. Due to getting burnt at PI with accom we need people who are coming to confirm this week or else you can look after yourself.

There is the option of comming up just for Friday night or else staying on for Sat night as well. If you want accom please state your intensions on this matter. Remember it is a 3hr drive from Melb but only a 20min drive from Wang to Winton. From memory the rooms are about $150 per night and sleep 6 so thats less than $30 per night. It needs to confirmed however.

So far I know confirmed for accom are:

Snowman (Fri + Sat)

Bec (Fri + Sat)

Scotman (+1 ?) (Fri + Sat)

Chrisman (Fri + Sat)

Blaise + 1 (Fri)

ACCOMMOADTION THREAD - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...751#post1273751

Please DO NOT post your accommodation requirements here - as the event gets closer this thread will get messy - goto the Accommodation Thread (above link) and let me know there.

Thanks

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
