Cheers

:uh-huh: :burnout:

Okay guys,

IT IS STILL ALL HAPPENING ON THE 25th at 2:30pm

I confirmed it today and put down the deposit so plz turn up as i loose out if u dont..........it has taken a bit of time, i do apologise but hey, trying to orgnaise this is it a bit of a mission!!

We still are 4 places short so we need to fill them so if there are any pplz still interested plz speak up or let me know!!!!! We need pplz to be 100% in as if we dont have all 20 turn up it may cause a few price problems!!!! But i am sure we can muster together another 4 without any hitches!

I assume the 16 that are still all on the list are still 100% in???!!!!

OKay hope u are all looking forward to it as it will be a EXCELLENT day of karting!

Oh yeah it is still $170 which is a good deal

Brendanf............dude i was about to snap then:bonk: i have had a bitch of a time with this and if ppl start pulling out now :P

All seems okay now as there are only 3 spots left to fill (maybe 2 if fatz is in 100%)

Fatz are u 100% in dude as i need to know as if u say ur in and dont turn up it stuffs everyone else over!!!!!!!!!

ALSO

With the drinking guys i cant state hard enuff that plz dont drink b4 or during the event!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No joke i have been warned and sent documentation stating that if any alchohol is consumed b4, during the event and we are caught, the WHOLE LOT OF US get booted out...no money back! Also we are unable to return as our club and i dont want Skylines Australia to get a bad rep!!!!!!

So dont &^%$ up guys u'll just ruin for the others and i'm sure you wont be popular in the eyes of the other 19 pplz there!!!!

Lastly the owners are actually family friends so i'd rather not get on their bad side as it will make things difficult for me to organise future events!!!!!!

BUT once ALL racing is over we are allowed to drink as much as we want!!! So bring some beers along if u like but plz leave them to the end!!!

Okay sorry for being negative about it..................but hey the day is about racing not drinking!!!!

Cheers

Ando

Sorry Dude, I couldn't resist the temptation - I'm there man - looking forward to it.

Bring it on !!!

Maybe the SAU tribal council can organise prizes for ratified SAU memebers ???? huh Red ???

Also, good SAU recruiting event me thinks........

Come one , Come all - the challange is on !!!!:P:D:)

Let me know!!

ANDO

Excellent job Ando :P

Unfortuneatly I can't make it :D (no joke...)

Someone want to donate prizes????

The mini GP is awesome, last time i went it was raining, u get the 13hp karts which usually 1st timers arent allowed on. Drifting in the wet was awesome!

For those qik fangs! I went on Sunday nite and the pricing was for 15 mins, 9hp 30 bucks and 13hp is 42 bucks apparently they went down in their price!

Have fun guys

Ando, I am still coming....

FYI guys, I am trying to fill the remaining gaps with friends. They will be non car fanatics, so at least the slower ones in the group (like me) can have a CHANCE at beating someone !!! hahaha

Seriously, my thoughts are we are better with 20 on the track than 12 Sky Oz members - more ppl makes it more interesting... u agree???

obviously Sky Oz members should take preference, so if u r a Sky Oz member, and u want in, take a remaining spot, otherwise, I'll try to fill with others.

look fwd to seeing u all on the day - and better watch ur back, I'm a suspected street racer - i do a mean 1/4 mile - sh!thouse on corners though : P

I'll donate fake Nismo butplug (oopps I mean gear knob) to the winner - as long as the tradition is handed on - ie the next winner of an SAU Go-Kart day gets the butplug and so on - I'll see if I can get it engraved..... he he

See here for details....

Ok guys i've sorta not taken any notice of this thread over the last 2-3wks but .......

COUNT ME IN

Myself and knat had a company day out at the Wilberforce Go-Karts and had an absolute ball, the only problem was the karts were dodgy (and only the 8-9hp karts) so hopefully EC has decent karts.

Believe it or not i get more scared racing around on go-karts then i do weaving in/out of traffic on the freeway @ 190km/h so if you see a dude with P plates on its me :headbang:

$170 it is just means i wont be competing in the Oran Park Track Day just a spectator.

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
