Guest trikdoutvl

lol i aint defending the calibra here but i thought id throw up some interesting facts i found about my calibra on wikedpedia

the cali shares the same getrag 6spd manual box as the top of the range gtr bmws

also shares the same engine management system as the f50 ferriaris :)

c20let 205bhp with a top speed of 250k's.... 15.1 1/4 mile all that stock as rock (mine properly has 5bhp)

no doubt there unreliable but im sure in new nick id give a few skylines a ran for there money...

before u flame me i own a 4wd manual cali n yes its sitting in my driveway with a f*kd turbo dash dont work n host of other problems but with those figures u caint say there complete crap

  • 2 years later...

i think they are ok too they just come witha few problems main one being transfer boxes dont last long so they end up being 2 wheel drive c20 let engine is good (i had it in a barina) not the fastest of cars and handle like shit, chassis is off a 1980s vauxhall cavalier but ok for what they are if you want a cheap "possibly" still 4wd turbo car...

Suck me Ash, already seen this thread 3 years ago when of the members on our Calibra forum posted a link to it over there...then proceeded to make us look like twits by digging up such an old thread. It was back when Hamish had Stewie as his avatar and I wasn't even on these forums.

What is blowing my mind, though, is that I can now see trikdoutvl (the same guy who recently delivered many lulz in the wasteland) was actually member on Club Calibra 3 years ago and I didn't even remember that in the wasteland. But now the username is even ringing a bell...dear god it's a small world. Was bad enough when I discovered Kris used to be on CC too.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
