I was away all weekend and missed it :)

Though from your pics Tharaka, no phat 350z's?? disappointing :D

There was one I remember taking a photo of...

But I'm guessing there isn't many because they're still relatively new, and a bit more expensive than buying an older car...

hey guys,

good to hear some good posts about autosalon, massive turnout and the sau boys were doing what they do best. stacks of good photos on the way. what a huge weekend its been. thanks to all those who organised parts of it, as there was a fair amount of logisitics involved in arranging all the stuff, and the costs too. did anyone manage to spot the midnight purple III r34 gtr? this thing looked hot as, just like the photos we've seen. absolutely awesome. some of the cars were a bit over the top but thats what its all about. just owners who love their cars and mod them or paint them extreme. some big power makers on the dyno's stacks of cars over 300rwkw easily. ash made a massive 369rwkw. leewah made 603awkw, tymsup made 334rwkw. nigel with his supra made a big figure and tons more, i wasnt at the dyno for most of the time so some others will post up the full results. big thanks for everyone for their parts and also we had a lot of new crew on board so a big thanks and welcome to them for their efforts.. we met a lot of new people and made some really good friends. some new signups also on the way and good to meet some of the forums members and give them a tour around and put a face to the names. very helpful. thanks again everyone. photos on the way, sarahs carmera has 74 so should be a real pisser to see them all :)

big thanks again for making it a great weekend

Just a quick note to say - fantastic effort from all involved with the SAU stand at Autosalon!

A great effort by everyone to get not only our stand up and running - but also keeping the dyno operations running smoothly all weekend.

The cars looked great, the SAU representation was great - so a very positive weekend all round. Bummer about the GT4 disc getting pinched though :)

Too many names to mention everyone - but a big hand to Ash (even if he was wearing a Fangartists shirt all weekend), Chris & Bec for getting all the bits and pieces organised - and to Pete & Adz, the supreme car marshalls :D

And of course... congratulations to Leewah and the Fangartists crew for not only winning a whole bag of trophies, but returning the Autosalon dyno power record of 604 awkw to its rightfull home!

Great job all - you can all sleep with the knowledge you made the world a better place ;)

James

Nice!

20d :)

What filter did you use?

ehh filter??

didn't use any filters

most of the stands there were too dark to get good shutter speeds oh well

autosalon wasn't really that great this yr it seemed smaller maybe coz of levis and girls day out events nextdoor.

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
