F***in Sato! Baulked Webber in qualifying and MW starts 7th because of it. FIA will decide to slap a fine o Sato for it. Sato's not doing to well to retain his drive for 06. :)

But lookie here... Kimi on the front! YAY!

Mark Webber, Williams (7th, +1.147s):

“As with qualifying these days, we won’t really know our performance until the race but we look pretty reasonable here. Obviously BAR didn’t have any communications, or Takuma didn’t know what was happening. He did a very slow lap, then an even slower in-lap, which compromised my qualifying but that’s how it goes. That was a really important corner and it probably compromised my lap by about three tenths of a second. We’re still up there though.”

Webber is the 2nd unluckiest driver in F1 after Kimi.

wow here's some news it seems Sato has been disqualified. doesn't help webber though as even 3 hundredths of a second would have put him ahead of heidfeld. bummer.

It's a shame as Webber looked like he had decent pace for the first time in a while. He put good passes on both Red Bulls in the first few laps, although i'm sure the Red Bulls were carrying much more fuel given how far they went into the race. Would have been interesting to see how both Webber and Heidfeld went if they didn't keep having blow outs on the right rear. Definately a set up problem, but you think Williams would have got it right for race day considering the same thing happened to Webber during Saturday morning practice.

FFS, get your act together WILLIAMS!@!@!

yeah but in montoya's defence his tyres were rooted, he was just fighting to stay ahead....and made a simple mistake. Its just that it is such a tight corner that it makes it a big off.

And how bad was his luck getting smacked by the Jordan? Alonso never would have been near unless that happened :D

What a race! What a great track. How good was it to actually see F1 cars slipstreaming each other!?!? I can not wait until next years race in the sphincter of the universe where there will be less downforce and closer racing.

Webber, his luck continues...hang in there mate!

yeah that was quite a decent race. I thought the moves webber pulled on the two RBR cars were pretty nice going around the outside. his move on schumacher would have been nice too up the inside had schuweave not excecuted 'the chop' webber was even further alongside when the went into the corner but realising schuey was going to take off his nose he back out of it a tad but they still colided. I though webber giving him the finger was a nice touch...

Yeah montoya would not have had a good nights sleep after that one i think as he drove a great race until that farking jordan rear ended him, i would say after that it's likely his tyres were gooone and he would have been a bit rattled too.

Such a shame that williams cannot get their sh1t together.

Montoya said that the Jordan incident rooted the rear diffuser. The corner he lost it in was a highspeed combination of lefts and there was just no downforce. Either way if he didn't lost it, Alonso would've gotten him exiting the turns.

hahaha thats about William's only chance tonight I reckon.

Not quite, good ol Pizza boy (driving for the injured Heidfeld) got in the points with a decent, but unspectacular drive last night.

As per usual, Webber lucked out! He ended up running up DC's arse in turn one after DC clipped the car in front of him which was a bit of a shame as Webber actually had very good pace through the race. Webber's drag with Sato down the pit lane was also quite entertaining. I'm sure Webber would have finished way in front of Pizzonia if he got cleanly through turn 1, so more points have gone begging. Same old story really...

Also feel sorry for Kimi...

Puts the car on pole with a very heavy fuel load

Then has to change the engine and start from 11th

Then gets stuck behind the F1 moving chicane that is JV

Then finally works his way up to 3rd after 1st round of stops

Then gets a delaminating tyre, has to pit again and drops to 12th behind JV

Then works his way up to 4th and spins as he closed in on Fisi and looses a place to Trulli

I know Webber's had his fare share of bad luck, but Kimi must have thrown a black cat through a mirror whilst standing under a ladder as the man is cursed! He's a a country mile quicker than anyone else on the grid, yet still finds himself in 2nd place in the drivers championship...poor bastard!

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
