I was the surprised the fronts held up so well, didn't feel like they were going to give up anytime soon

I was driving the car pretty hard as well, didn't really understeer anywhere. It just did what I wanted it to do :)

The nitto invos are a great tyre they put my 336rwkw to the ground nicely :)

Got my Hankook Z222 on the evo yesterday. They are not overly noisey and they didn't make the steering feel as twitchy as it felt with the dunlop SP MAXX that were on it and they did make my steering feel a lil heavier and made turn in a little more progressive.

Havent tested them out in the twisties yet though. Hopefully tonight :)

I gave the RSR's a good run again on the weekend, still not bad for the price! They obviously are cheap tyres but when you drive them at their limit they handle it well! Nice and quiet too...

yh true i have RSR 255/35/18 good in the wet can launch at 3500 with my few killerwasps and it grabs instantly.

This tyre test is interesting. It shows braking from 100km/h dry and wet.

Down the bottom there are some real shockers but the mid-range performers seem good value.

I wish i could...

straight line braking in wet or dry is not a good indicator or lateral grip (corners) nor how they 'feel' or how they grip once traction has been broken and then in regaining traction...

Nonetheless, still meaningful statistics :)

Bridgestone potanzas re240s street slicks

Dry 10/10 once you get heat into them

Wet 3/10 just for normal driving

i rate these types 10/10 for price as im a true believer that you get what you pay for

"Potanza RE240s" ? Was wondering what these were. You might want to take another look at your tyre sidewall markings :)

Unless you're referring to the old Potenza RE540s (semi-comps, not slicks), which I believe are long discontinued?

I used Tirerack to get my Michelins due to the fact Michelin Australia cant be bothered bringing 265/35/18 into Australia

Once i sent my money i received my tyres in 5business days too my door!!!

Michelin Australia arnt bringing every size into the country, this is reflected on their website

Re: PSS

Ta Nick for feedback on this :)

*Edit: Much road noise?

Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of posts on here lately.

I have Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec that i have had on my 33 for the past 18 months or so. I haven't really tried many tyres so i cannot really rate them outta 10 but I am well happy with them. I am glad I spent the $$ and bought some good tyres. Alot better than previous KU31.

I know a few others bought the same tyres from tirerack.com. Any other opinions on these tyres ?

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
