Along with everyone else, big thanks to the champions who gave up their time so that lunatics could abuse their cars. :)

I have to say, its scary how bad i was at those skippan events.:(..but if keep you foot planted you can somehow convince yourself that you everything will be ok, it easily ranks as some of the most fun i have ever had in the car.

So highlights...

Pete is the "roll back king" :)

Geoff loves the handbrake, Chris gets too excited when im a passenger in the car, lol and vice versa...:)

As a group of ppl going away to enjoy a weekend, couldnt have asked for a better crew of ppl, that goes for the poor WRX boys that we broke on Friday night, if Andrew/Chris bump into Adrian/John etc , tell them they will always hold a special place in my heart:alcoholic:

So many things to rave about...these weekends away rule , roll on Winton...:)

Note to self: Never question Andrews ability to administer swift and deadly punishment for challenging his Wang, especially when you are in a shopping trolley:)

all I can say is, I wish I went.

I had absolutely bugger all money to go up there - and I wudnt have been able to handle watching cars ripping up on the skidpan without me doing so.

Ohh well, theres always a next time.

Regards

Kim

shiv's car would have been an absolute weapon if he wasn't on cheater tyres making him stick instead of slide :)

What an awesome weekend! :P I've gotta go find a quiet carpark so I can keep practicing...

Big thanks to Andrew/James and everyone else who helped organise this event.

Good to meet you guys in person too!

BTW - I was driving the stock 05 silver rex which liked doing handbrake turns! Apparently it didn't mind lifting the back wheel either! :)

Cheers,

matt

heh one of my mates (Nismo32) got my reverse park into pit on vid, along with the lexus getting slid around... I have to wait till I get into work to get it off him and post it. Don't think he took any other vids. I spent more time behind the wheel than behind the camera at this event...

Lexus was an interesting beast, but no cred on the pan with an open rear diff.

Hahaha, it sounded tough as though.

Again, a HUGE thanks to Snowy and the SAU guys for organising such an AWESOME day, spewing I had to bail from Taco Bill's so early, did the service get any better?

Did Brisby find a bed for the night?

How many hats were earned?

Is everyone still in one piece?!

I'm still buzzing from this event, I'm SO glad I went - can we do another one next month?!

Benalia, here we come :P

cheers

Aaron (White STI 2 door) :)

Ok guys,

We are going to look at a Video, BBQ and Beer night shortly cause we still have most of the free beer we brought up to Shep left over. It seems we were fairly well filled with Margarita's on Sat night.

LOL...locked out?

There were rumours that one cabin tired to lock me out, but unless you use chains and padlocks, the average door lock can be overcome by the simple mind of a pissed bloke:)

And i wasnt silly enough to sit on the bench 2 nights in a row waiting for the sun to come up over the lake, the kodak moment simply isnt worth the cold now have:(

yeah I had about 1mm of frost on my car on Sat morning at 5am... must be that thickened hide of yours and copious amounts of alcohol in your blood that kept you warm

Well what a huge weekend! Soooooo much beer, fun, laughs and burnouts :P

Just want to say a Big thanks to all the guys who worked hard to put this event together, you did a fantastic job! I'm sure after the success of this year that next year will be even bigger and better if thats possible! Was fun to get the car out on the skid pan and for once be able to hold the foot to the floor and just spin :)

Sat night at Taco Bills....do you reckon they knew what hit them? I remember at one point seeing Baz (the cook) behind the bar with his hands to his head shaking it in dismay. Another one was Al asking the waitress "do you have jugs?". I'd like to say thanks to Pete for covering my Nacho's in "After Death" sauce after saying "hey Adz, get a look at Snowy".....I couldn't work out why looking at him so pissed was all that intersting. When I tasted my nacho's I understood why! Brissy I know how you felt after the F1!

Thanks to Brissy, Geoff and Shiv for run in your cars! All three were animals :)

Was really good to catch up with some of the non SAU Vic guys too, the WRX guys, Fangers and others too! Hope you all made it home safe and thanks again for the top weekend!

Photo's will follow :)

Yeah - we locked our door on Friday night sepcifically to keep your drunk a$$ out - and you still manage to get in at 4am and wake us all up!!!

C'MON - SARK PISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to those who didn't come/couldn't make it - you missed the unveiling of the Team Wang Stubby Holder!

How long does Joel usually take to sort through his pics? He had a great one of Bass throwing water on the pan.

usually takes him at least a few days, he generally has a thousand or so to sort through, damn that day job taking up precious time!

I thought Blaise was gonna make the waitresses cry :P

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
