Guys,

Just wanting a bit of feedback regarding the events held at DECA on the weekend. Due to the overwhelming response to run another event and whilst it's still fresh in everyone's mind we'd just like to know what you enjoyed most on the day so any future events can be planned accordingly.

Can vote for more than one option.

I loved every damn second of the weekend!

I think if there had of been lights on the skid pan, I'd be there all night!

Loved it.

Bring on the next one

i can get you some lights for next time ,if you want, if i come. i work at kennards hire in bayswater and i think we have 8 x 1500 watt flood lights and genarators to run them. The boys at work said someone from skylines australia came in to get a walking measure just after i left. too bad i missed ya. Sounds like you guys had lotsa fun..!

Even though I liked the lot, I was not the biggest fan of trying to change from forward to reverse (and back). It seems to me like that could brake the gearbox easily if you get too exuberant with it.

I'm much prefer to have all the 'khanas completed in the forward gears.

I liked it all particularly chaps laps, except the last session which was pointless and had no specific motorsport value. I'd rather give the volunteers a shot at the courses again rather than waste time like that. They deserve it.

:werd:

getting into reverse in the 6speed s15 is a pain - takes some of the fun out :)

lets just do it in forward gears ;)

It just adds another level. This event was practice for a similar event that will be in dutton, so I wanted to practice my reverse J turn. Promise we will never have more than one of these, but it did have some underlying value for the four of us who are competeing in Dutton this year.

All in all thou. I loved all the events.

i agree, reverse does add another level. crunched a few gears tho... chaps and essendon were both great because they were so different.. witht the sweeping last turn of essenden i think all the rwd boys had a ball.... one big drift; where as chaps was a bit more technical. i think the last free session would have been better with the whole pan rather the divider but i totally understand the idea of splitting it so we had more time on.

be quiet I had heaps of fun in that last session ;)

muahaha

although its true about the volunteers...

For what it's worth I actually for the one with the reverse my favortie one of the day. Basically 4 handbrake turns, a reverse flick and lots of getting the power down with a huge stop - all whilst racing someone else. I thought it was tops.

I actually found the stop - go the hardest part on the car but we had to have that from CAMS restrictions.

Anyways - thanks for the feedback. It seems a pretty even spread of enjoyment which means people enjoyed the whole day.

Which is why you want to hand brake 180 into the box, and come out in first gear =p

loved every single aspect, only thing I'd change is more shots at the short wang course and less time arsing about at the end

Keep the reversing maneuvres, even add more in - it's just another facet to car handling and that's what motorkhanas are all about!

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
