I have noticed that there are not many of these 1.5 series R33's why is that is it because they were simply a car that was manufacatured for a very very brief time or is there something else that I have over looked as to why there is not many available

What's the difference between series 1-1.5 or 1.5-2???

I'm not too sure about the 1.5 series, but in another thread they mentioned all the differences between series 1 & 2, but my car has a few features of both, so maybe mine is a 1.5, otherwise it's a s1. Is there a way to tell easily or not???

Mine is a R33 GTS-T 1994 Model, I think it's a Series 1.5 as it has an Airbag, but no ABS yet, one of those Antenna erection buttons (which I'm sure didn't come in Series 1's) and only has half a body kit (Front Bumper only and colour coded Mud guards, but no side guards and only standard rear bumper)

I looked all over the car and engine bay, but couldn't find the Series No. of the car anywhere.

On the build plate it says 1994 but yet on the rego papers it claims 1995 ? still unsure as to the reasoning why this is my only guess is that it was made in 1994 but yet it was the 1995 model ....

Mine does have the nicer front bar and fog lights (just have to work out how to turn the foggers on) and the drivers air bag, the antenna up and down button ect

but thanks for that it was just a curiosity thing... had done a quick search but just wanted to know if it was like a limited edition ?

check the build date on the bottom of the seatbelt, where it connects to the floor.

Also, there was a chassis number list somewhere that detailed the chassis number and the build year.

Although mine was built in 95, it was a 96 delivered model, and a series 2.

I have a series 1.5 - its the last of the series 1 models so it has the beginnings of the S2 features but the so called "best" of the S1. As other people it said it has airbag, HICAS, series 2 rear wing etc Mine has the M-Spec front bar... which is a bit better looking than the standard S1 front bar.... I still like S2 ones's better though!

Its the same with most cars... the last model they make is usually the better one of the series.

Have a series 1 in the driveway and a series 2 next door, nearly identical cars too hahhaha

Sit in both seats, look at both seats... the series 1 seats are much nicer infact the series 2 owner is getting new seats as we speak no bull!

Guess its personal opinion as with everything else aswell

90 percent of R33s I have seen recently are Series 1.5.

There are variations, but really ONLY 1995 models can claim to be series 1.5

Even 1993 series ones came with optional Airbag, AND PASSENGER AIRBAG (it was a very expensive option and not common in 1993 cars hence you dont see many).

Series 2 had a fair few differences, most relevent to me are the suspension and turbo. The seires 2 suspension is much stiffer than Series 1 (as standard) and the turbo uses a Nylon front wheel (like a R34 GTT).

yeha starion turbo is right, only series 1.5 are '95 model nothing else, its because its the model thats in between the two models that had been made. I have a series 1 '94 model but it has abs brakes no passenger airbags tho, series 2 wing, however i dnt have that button for that antennae thingo that Don is talking about

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
