Yet.. your avatar is a photo of a rave... lol

True.. quite observant of you.. if you look at the full photo it's actually taken in 2003 and is in memory of a mate..

Still love the music - just found as I get older have started to grow out of going to raves/parties like transmission and so on and so forth which is where we took the photo..

anyways - moving on.. yeah - if your tire - take a break think we did sydney to byron in about 9 hours.. with stop for lunch and change of drivers.. love the cruise into byron nice long windy roads..

just get a shit load of speed.... just kidding

no doze or gurana tabs

ive got a mate who's done it from melb to toowoomba in one go with no sleep... 15 hrs just pump tunes that wake u up like tekkez or sumfin like that not somthing that will put u to sleep

15hours to do that drive? That is fing white lighting.

The problem with flying up there and hiring a car if you are under 25 is the fact you can't hire a car as most places have a policy of 21 or 25 and older. I drove from Brisbane to Newcastle in 9.5 hours with one 30 minute stop at Buladelah for a refuel and food stop.

If you leave early in the morning, i.e 5am, you run the chance of falling asleep at the wheel a few hours into the trip as well.

That was exactly the problem I had with the g/f. We had an apartment in surfers but wanted a car so the only way was to drive up. I drove all the way there and she drove part way back. We did 12 hours straight to coonabarabran (sp?) with a few fuel stops and then 8 hours to the gold coast the next day.

Plenty of water for you and the car, spare oil and a basic tool kit. Also check your wheel nuts can actually be undone i.e not done up with a pressure gun so when you get a flat you are stranded.

Lots of CD's. We had an esky in the back running off the cigarette lighter as well for cool drinks.

Fantastic country for road trips.

red bull is excellent stuff. once you start losing concentration pull over. every weekend i am awake 52 hours straight and driving 35 hours of that, red bull is unreal as is music you love to sing along too. also if you have a small steering wheel a pair of motorbike gloves makes it easier on the hands and whatever you do, dont turn on the heater! it will make you tired.

and that has what to do with anything.... you shouldnt be 'in' boost on the highway anyways.... you need load to produce boost.... if you are maintaining a constant speed, you will be in vacuum

lots of slight hills from canberra, and as soon as i touch the acc it goes into boost, it would wind its self straight to 12 psi (r33 gtst modded).

As for the hole sleep thing i drove to sydney stayed with family on newyears tryed to sleep but fireworks kept me awake till 4 got up at 5 and drove to surfas, lots of stops.

on the way back left bris vages and drove straight to canberra 12 or 13 hours. middle of the night and almost ran out of fuel, I didnt even know that r33s had fuel lights till it came on.

Mate take the New England Hwy. The Pacific is packed with roadworks and a lot of single lane stuff that is frustrating. Then add all the little towns along the way where you reduce 100-80-60 for 10 mins then back to 100kmh.

The New England Hwy is 110kmh, no stops. It ends a fair way west of Brisbane but the drive is sooooo much easier and far less tiring. I have lived in Tamworth and now in Newcastle, and having to drive the Pacific (last weekend) sucked bigtime. My 2.2c

Mark

Id have to agree with mark the New England is alot better to travel along.

You go through towns such as Stanthope, armidale etc etc.

Im thinking you would go as far as my home town of Toowoomba and then from to Brisbane and or Coast. Takes me about 1.5hours from Toowoomba to Surfers paradise.

Gl matey.

I drove from Coffs Harbour to the Gold Coast today and roadworks are terrible, many 5-10min stops and stacks of 40/50/60km zones. If you took the New England then you could probably take the Cunningham Hwy from Warwick across to Ipswich rather than go all the way to Toowoomba then down, or there's probably a route from the New England to the Gold Coast through Murwilimbah.

Ask your GF to give you a Blow Job every 3 hours while on the wheel. That'll keep u goin

Kidding...=)

Check your coolants, tyres and make sure u have a spare tyre with the tools as well. Don't want to get a flat in the middle of nowhere. Please let us know how did your petrol consumption go?

    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed
    • I'm so far behind in the jobs I have to do at both work and home (including car) that I have become immortal. There's simply no way that I can die now.
