I just had my car tuned...

R33 S1.5

Trust Front Mount

Full Exhaust

Nismo Fuel Pump

HKS 2535

PFC

At 14psi it pulled 244rwkw and is amazing to drive!!!

My new best friend will be the local servo i think!

I thought it would have terrible traction with the crap 326's but it doesnt! it actually pulls very hard with fantastic grip in a straight line. Of course its quiet easy to smoke the tyres through 2nd but the power delivery is so smooth it usually just grabs and goes!!!

I would recommend this setup to anyone for street use! more power everywhere!!!

Cheers!

Ill have to take a photo of the graph with my phone and post it up...

INASNT; i bought the Apexi N1 off your friend and had them install it yesterday....

It is pretty loud but im sure ill get used to it...

Only mods are those posted... Stock injectors, no FPR or Z32.. max knock was around 30 on the PFC.. i dunno about the max duty of the injectors, i forgot to ask..

I was told it was making about 150ish rwkw by 3000 rpm and max power at about 6,500 rpm. (ill have to check it on the dyno graph though)

boost held to 13psi (from 14psi) till redline which i was not expecting..

it did cost u big bucks??? hahaha

not really...

in this case, you get what you pay for... if you saw how stock my car looks you would know what i mean and considering i have been burnt in the past by previous tuners im more than happy to pay a little more for the service and quality...

i just got my power fc tuned with my 2535 bolted up. Ended up with 231.1rwkw at 13-14psi. i do have a z32 afm and a nismo fpr and i'm very happy with the results. max knock is 11 and injectors get to max duty of 84% as far as ive seen. Like silvar33 my exhaust is a little restrictive. My tune feels very strong on boost but safe. Chasers tuned the car and they said on other dynos it might squeeze out a few more kw's but im happy with the performance of the car.

For those people who believe that a HKS turbo is a waste of money im happy to take them for a drive and show them the difference. No comparison compared to standard

Sounds good reflex..

It would be good to compare the two cars it see how the tunes are different becuase if anything yours should be smoother than mine with the Z32 AFM

yeah mine is really smooth, i thought it be a bit laggy but its pretty good. im making full boost at 3000-3200rpm. oh yeah my traction issues arent to bad, got brand new tyres tho.

ill put up my graph tommorrow arvo, there isnt any significant dips in my curve and theres no spiking

this is what ive come up with.

i bought my series 1 r33 18 months ago with basics

-3 inch exhaust

-boost controller

-pod filter

-rims

-bov

-fuel pump

-surge tank

-turbo timer

since then ive bought

-intercooler $400

-piping $250

-fpr $150

-power fc $1000

-hks 2535 $1300 exchange for standard

-z32 afm $220

-tuning $500

TOTAL - $3820

everything else is standard though

ive achieved 231 rwkw relatively cheaply, ive wasted plenty of money other crap like body kit, sound system, clearing defects, servicing etc.

for anyone out there looking to achieve strong, safe reliable results this is one option that you should look into.

this website is great for finding second hand parts in good condition

by the way my engine bay looks completely stock except for red rocker covers

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
