Guys,

Most of us still haven't recovered from the last round but the entries are now open of the next and final round of the WRX Club sprints and consequent last round for the SAU Vic Motorsport Club Championship.

Sup Req's here: http://www.wrx.com.au/motorsport/calderoctsupreg.pdf

Entry Form here: http://www.wrx.com.au/motorsport/AASAEntryForm.pdf

As mentioned this is the last offical club round of motorsport for the next 3-4 months (prob until Feb 06). Consequently based upon previuos years experience this event sell out very quickly. From my understanding from last year the event sold out in 5 days.

ALSO - it should be noted that Passenger Laps WILL be allowed again for this round.

For reference in the Club Championship the following is possible for the last round.

Class A

Snowman will win Class A but Aaron can catch Scotsman for 2nd.

Class B

Ferni will win Class B and West will get 2nd but really anyone can come and take 3rd in Class as its being held currently by just 4 points due to minimal class entries this year. So anyone with a standard GTR or other 4WD could pretty much get 3rd in class here.

Class C

Is still very open. Roy is winning and could only be beaten by Gareth. However currently any of Gareth, Nige, Al, Wayne, Denham or Steve can finish 2nd or 3rd in class.

Class D

Ant will win class D but any of Scott, William, Pete, Dave, Ryan, Rianto, Anthony, Jarrod or Tom can finish 2nd or 3rd in class.

Outright just 2 points seperate me and Ant for 1st and just 3 points seperate Scotsman and Brisby for 3rd so it will go down to this last round for most of the club awards.

3 track days in october sound good to finish the year off.

What tyres will you be running...if i need to cheat to get the 10 points i need to know now so that i can rob a bank.

Oh, and Andrew, is there any chance that the Supra is coming???

shitty road tyres unfortunately :D

The semi comps will have to wait for next year as i cant justify buying new rims and tyres when my 18's are only 8 months old

Well its currently a liberty thats holding 3rd place so.....

Sounds good I will be there, just gotta get some semi's or even a decent set of road tyres before hand. Anyone need some Michelin Snow tyres LOL

  • 2 weeks later...

How does the points system between the different classes work and are they transferable.

So if snowy does a 55 sec lap at calder and wins his class in modified class and ant does a 1.35 say does the difference in class versus time come into determining the club track championship???

If I do a 55s lap I deserve to win everything cause it means I've just done a lap 4s faster than Benno's best.

But - championship points are based upon your results compared to others in your class. But its a complex web.

If I beat everyone on the day in my class I get 10 points and if Ant beats everyone in his class he gets 10 points.

If thats the case - then we will have dual club champions in 2005.

If I win and poiter beats Ant then I will be club champion - unless we only get 2 entrants in my class in which case I can only get a max of 6 points (as per Winton) So in this situation we'd have dual club champios again.

However - if we both win but there is only 2 entrants in class A (and 3 or more in class D) then Ant will be club champion.

So - what it all boils down to is WE NEED ANOTHER CLASS A CAR to come to this event!! LOL

Jack? Archie? Robin? Drew? Marcus? Emre? Anyone? I can lend some semi's!!

:P

Hey Snowie, it's a biatch when all these hi-performance cars have blown up or are off the road  .

Would have loved to come back with a vengence on the very track that caused me to retire, but my car is also currently in pieces at my mechanics w/shop.

If anyone is interested in track rims and tires i have a set that i will probably sell for $1000

- Fronts: 17 x 8, bought 2nd hand, 5-spoke, clears Skyline calipers easily, correct offset for a 33 gtst.

- Rears: 17 x 9, bought as new (only done 2 complete track days), multi-spoke dish, right offset for 33 gtst.

Tyres

- Bridgestone RE55s, only done 2 complete track days and driving to and from events.

- F:235x45x17

- R:255x40x17

NOTE: Tyres alone cost $1400 new

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
