Subject: Delivery of R33 GTR Suspension Kit for BLK33

Hi Matt,

I would like a response to this query regarding the progress of my order for a R33 GTR suspension kit.

I transferred the money late in June - some 2 months ago. You advised me delivery would be 2 weeks and since that date I’ve had no replies to any of my PMs. As mentioned in my previous PMs, I'm not busting for the bits I just want to make sure you received the money and what the expected delivery date is.

Please contact me by PM or mobile.

Cheers

Rob

Try this number Rob:

Superior Suspension

I hear your fustration. Mine was a couple of weeks without any response from Gary or Matt. I think putting cash upfront and having to wait 2 months is unbelieveable! Gary is very knowledgeable, but there is no way i will ever buy from his group buys again. It seems Gary+Matt are too busy, i'd rather pay retail prices next time and not have the stress of chasing the boys all the time.

We are currently suffering from out of stock on some springs, some alignment products and some shocks absorbers, which is holding up about 20 deliveries, some for over 6 weeks. So we haven't been taking new orders, it's not fair on the guys who are waiting on their stuff. Springs are gradually arriving, they are made in Europe, so delivery takes time. The bush production is getting back on stream after the amalgamation of the Noltec and Whiteline alignment products, the new combined range is called Whiteline Plus. Some are due this/next week. That leaves us with a few kits that will be waiting on selected Bilstein part numbers. I am on the suppliers case daily as many of the guys are, understandably, getting impatient and they send multiple PM's every day, this fills up the inbox faster than we can reply.

It's a temporary situation caused by a number of unrelated issues, once we are passed that we will take some new orders. The bonus is there are a number of new and improved products that we will be able to include in the various Group Buys.

Cheers

Hey Gary

just wondering if you can help me. I live in Japan and have GTR BCNR33 and its lowered and I`m having dramas with my camber. I bought some new rims and tyres and had a wheel alignment done and now the car is tracking all over the place. I`ve seen the group buy for the Whitline/Bilstein suspension upgrade kits and I`d be interested in what you think and recommend.

I wouldnt be after the springs and shocks as already have Nismo S Tune Suspension kit front and rear and am looking at getting an adjustable coilover setup as in winter I need to raise the car due to the amount of snow around and to stop damage to my front bar. I`m also looking at getting the Mines ESTA SPorts link (http://www.mines-wave.com/english/CATALOG/SUSPENSION/ESTA_SPORTS_LINK.htm) or the Nismo equivalent.

My question/s are would the above kits help with the camber issues I have now, I know they will help the handling a hell of alot.

What would you recomend as far sway bars.

What in the group buy do you think would be of use to me? and can parts be sent to Japan

The car is 80% street and 20% track..mainly gymkhana days. The car will be sent back to Oz some time before april next year. Its pushing about 500 PS at the moment on a mild boost but a 2.8 motor will be built over winter here by HKS plus new turbo setup before it gets sent back, probably looking 650-700PS.

The car gets all work done by HKS.

I`ve attached before and after pics of alignment stats..first is before and 2nd after alignment.

Mate any help would be greatly appreciated as the car is real twitchy under brakes at high speed on the track and driving me nuts with the tram lining.

Anyway hope to hear from you

cheers

I'm not sure about r33, but it r32 tramlining is almost alway because of stuffed upper control arm bushes. But the 33 has a different setup.

Anyway, I would look at front end bushes and balljoints for the tramlining, make sure the caster rod bushes and lower control arm ball joints are in good condition. also check for worn steering rack bushes, steering column bush, and inner and outer tie rods on the steering arms.

As for the rear....you already have 1.5mm toe in so it should be pretty stable. What is the car's ride height? (centre of wheel to guard?). Everything else looks pretty normal

All bushes are sweet, its just been on the rack at HKS. Before I got wheel alignment done it was pretty sweet, the wheel alignment was done at different shop (Super Autobacs). As for ride height I`m pretty sure front is 350mm cant remember rear off hand. I`ll check in the morning as its pissing down outside and bloody freezing, had first snow 2 nights ago.

I`m trying to get the suspension setup real nice for the street, plus the odd track days each month.

Appreciate the info!!

I`ve spun the before align pic around the right way

Hi,

I'm no expert but it looks like you have about 5mm of TOE OUT at the front.

I would bet if this is the case your car will be picking up all the camber changes on the road and steering into them.

Get the front toe changed to toe in by a mm or so.

Rob

Thats exactly whats going on, cinstant fight with the wheel.

Before I do new alignment I want to upgrade the suspension, just wondering what parts of the whiteline kit would be of benefit. Most camber adjuster kits here in Jappa are sypherical bearing types which I dont want as new laws here on rego that they cant be used plus the car will be sent to oz sometime next year once all mods are finished, to be sold.

Check the Whiteline site

http://www.whiteline.com.au/

Key in ONLINE PARTS CATALOGUE top right hand corner - nissan skyline r33 gtr

This will show all the parts available

Front Camber - KCA 348 will take out 1 deg

Rear Camber - KCA 347 get 2 kits and use one at each end of the arm - this will take out 1.5 deg on the rear

I have used the rear kits and they work well.

Cheers

no, according to the after pic it is 1mm toe in per side. Which is common to minimise wear due to camber, but for track use you would normally be more like +1mm or even +2mm per side. The original settings were 6mm in total which is too much but they fixed that and evened it up

yes the rear camber is too much but at least it is even. nothing futther you can do without adjustable bushes (try whiteline plus) or adjustable arms.

Go to the Whiteline WEB site and order them directly. They ship to Japan.

The small suspension components would be cost effective freigth wise, maybe the sway bars would be expensive to freight.

I talked to Whiteline today and they reckon they have stopped making the front camber adjuster KCA 348 as they were`nt happy with the design and reckon it will be 2 months until new design will be available.

Ordered the rest

Hi Gary,

Earlier this year i purchased some R33 GTR suspension from you for my R33 GTR. Im about to sell the car and want to keep the suspenion for an R34 that I have lined up to purchase.

I know it will bolt in directly, but will this same setup properly match an R34 GTR? Is the valving in the shocks the same?

Cheers,

Ian

My suspension kit for the R33 GTR finally arrived. It’s installed and I’m so pleased with the ride.

I had a set in my old R33 GTST and I was hoping the GTR verion was as good!

It’s a nice and firm ride but so compliant over undulations, pot holes, railway lines and speed humps. The suspension just soaks up speed humps and the car isn’t launched over them.

Gary has obviously spent a lot time getting the Bilstein shocks just right. Many thanks.

Cheers

Rob

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
