I think the problems with Tillbrooks stem from thje days when Mick (SubZero?) was there.

Mark is a top bloke, and their work is good (now Micks left)

Yeah Mark is a top bloke, i had bad exp. with tilbrook as well but that's when Mick is there.

I think mick was the problem back then, and now with Tim there it is alot better, but i remember a guy i know had his engine blow up on a RPM dyno a few years back, not too sure what eventuated from it, another mate had his car at Tilbrooks for quite some time with no work done and kept getting put off, I'm sorry but Mark has made a few bad calls over the last couple of years in my eyes, won't ever be seeing my car down there.......not even for a dyno day!!!

only reason mick was 'the problem' is due to his cockness in his tuning. but i agree with p1e, theres more problem there which needs address atm. hence my question of whether mick does the tuning himself or just using another tuner.

I've taken both my GTRs to G TEK at Lonsdale. Andy and Mick seem to know what they're doing, call you if necessary, charge very reasonable rates, and get the job done in the time they said they would (this has been a big issue with me at other places). Nothing to fault them on so far but I've only been there 3 times. My cousin gets his MY99 WRX service/repairs done there, his mate's R32 GTS-T is currently there, and a mate of mine gets his Honda CRX serviced/repaired there as well.

i took my GTR and GTS to tilbrooks RECENTLY, and have only good things to say. Before i bought my GTR Mark showed me over one of the cars there in DETAIL showing me what to look for, and was extremely helpful. Depending on the job mark does work on the cars, he made some custom bits for me and di some fitting. From apprentice mechanic right up to mark ive only had good service. They are pretty busy hence not always making deadlines, but what counts is that the job is done properly more so than on time.

The first thing that hit me is how passionate mark is about the cars (esp GTR's i think) and certainly knows them inside and out, no question about that.

Oh and in regards to tuning, the last i heard you can choose either martin or tim.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
