Hey guys,

I was cruising through Bondi Junction this morning and a silver G35 Skyline Coupe went the other way - no license plates but just a trade palte on the back..

I saw in HPI they were coming out to Aus, but I havent seen anything official from Nissan yet.

Anyone know when they're due for sale? It was DAMN nice.

We're in the process of importing a couple for clients.

Rather than point out specific examples which are cheap, I've put together a sample of 220 random V35's of various specs and configurations, how much they sold at auction for, and how much they will cost landed.

Compliance cost is around $5500 currently, its a little high, but it is because only one workshop is able comply them at the moment. We expect it to drop once the competition picks up in the coming month.

Should give you a good idea of how much to expect to pay for what. These are all cars that are added to our daily auction examples, which you can subscribe to at http://www.j-spec.com.au/list and then enter your email addy at the bottom of the page.

I couldnt care if it went like a ferrari! it looks like shit. A new magna has more appeal than this heap. I wouldnt swap my 33 for this. Not turbo either is it?

Funny you should mention this. I parked my 35 next to a new Magna in the petrol station this morning and the Magna looked downright dowdy and awkwardly styled next to the 35.People used the Magna to lean on while asking me questions.

I dont think you should comment re the looks until you see one in the metal as I wasn't sure about them either from photos.

I agree with you about swaping for a 33. I've owned 33 and 34 and let me tell you as far as drivability goes the 35 is generations ahead.

I still like the 33 and actually prefered it to my 34.

I was wondering if I'd made the right decision getting the 35 but after a month of driving it around I'm hooked :(

Re Performance mine has run 14.5 at the drags.(may get to low 14's when I learn the car more)

Last night at a track meet the 35 was amongst the 32GTR's for lap times stock as a rock and on cheapie compliance tyres. Surprised the hell out of me. Turbo's...who needs em :D

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
