Entry Form - DECA Version2.0 Entry & Supp Regs

Removed for now.

Event Schedule - Released 1 week prior to event

SAU VIC have arranged for DECA Version 2.0 Motorkhana / Driving Day for SAU and WRX Club members and affiliated car clubs. We will need your commitment early in order to secure a spot. This event will give all entrants plenty of track time and will be highly enjoyable. If your new to motorsports this is the perfect opportunity to give it a shot.

Date: Saturday 19th November 2005

Location: DECA driving grounds in Shepparton (145 Wanganui Rd)

Cost: $60

Entrants: Limited to 55 to give everyone maximum track time

Time: Gates open 8:00am, Scrutineering 8:00am-9:00am, 9:00am Driver Briefing (Compulsory Attendance)

Last timed run 4:30, Closure of gates at 5pm

Events we intend to run:

1. 2x Full Skidpan Motorkhana’s (Witches hats on large skidpan, with map provided)

2. Short track sprint using the DECA track (Slowed down by chicanes)

3. Mini-Sprint (new!)

4. 2x Skidpan Challenge (2 cars on skidpan.)

5. Open 2min Skidpan (pending time at end of day)

All events should have a minimum of 2 runs each. For those that came last time all events will be different but will be designed in the same spirit (i.e. fast and flowing rather than tight and complicated)

There will be no stop-goes on the short track, there will be no reversing sections on the skid-pan, and the skidpan will be dry (weather dependant!)

Helments will be required for the 2 back sections only (not on skid-pan) and 1 passenger can be taken in all events.

SAU will provide a BBQ lunch at a small cost and tea/coffe, cold beverages will also be available for purchase.

This event will run under AASA, and a minimum of a CAMS Level 2 Non Speed Licence will be required, or equivelent AASA licence. These can be arranged on the day for a fee of $45 if you don't have a license already (One day event license).

SAU Vic are now accepting entries!!

This day is Proudly Brought to you by AFAS Automotive Services

If you want to know what the day is about check out a few video's from out last one.

Skidpan 1

Full Skidpan

As of this morning there are only 8 spots still available for this day. ;)

Ok - this event is now officially fully booked!

All future enquires will have to be placed on a stand-by list. Given that we are still 30 days away from the event there may be some withdrawals closer to the date - but we probably wont know until the last week or so.

Thanks all for your support.

Cheers

Still in discussions Geoff - but it looks like this event will be covered by a TV station. (ok - Channel 31 but still!)

And the rights of that footage will actually belong to Serious Business (makers of Serious Performance and a number of other publications).

But more detials will be posted as they come to hand.

I suggest that for the 'open skidpan' you still put a couple cones on the skidpan so that people have something to aim at. Sliding is not as much fun if you're not aiming at something ;-)

ps. I'm looking forward to the day ... I'm sure it'll be fun.

After doing some calculations, there will not be any time for an open skidpan unfortunatly. With 56 entrants doing 2-3 runs per event and 6 different events, the day will be jam packed from start to finish. Lunch will even be difficult to squeeze in.

Keep an eye out for the 'event schedule' I will make this avaliable mid to end of next week.

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
