Tyre buldge is alrgith, as i still have abit of gap between my rear gaurds and the rim... currently running 265's and have at least 10mm gap with the rubber tucked in... 20mm different in rubber, but i guess 20mm goes both on the inside aswell as the outside in terms of sidewall buldge

why? it will look like the stupidest thing you ever saw and handle like crap. 245 is a perfect fit on a 9 inch rim. or you could go 235, or 255 any more than that is a waste of time imo.

I run 265 on a 9.5 and it looks and feels tops on the road..

You can see it doesnt overhang and isnt too stretched... so going by what others have said a 255 is probably the max you want to go

agreed...

i had 255's on a 10 inch wide rim, that was about right...

Actually I reckon that might be overkill and effect the handling unless you change the fronts accordingly.

I was running 235/40/R18s front and 265/35/R18 rear

but on my last tyre change I decided to go to 275s at the back and for some reason which I cant quite figure out the handling isnt as good. This is on 9.5inch rim.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
