if its at 40km/h chances are its a lot of stop start driving, hence the high stress. engines love freeway driving

ahhh... interesting point..... cheers d to the e- z- z :D

why didnt i think of that?... :D

because you're not as smart as me ?

nah thats why cars that do all their k's on the highway can have high as k's and be in nice condition....the engine doesnt have to work when its cruising at 100....unless its a 1.5l and its revving off its head

first and foremost..i dont want a damn commadore...its not a suggestion i was asking for now was it wanted.i did state that i would spend up to 15 on the car...i didnt say i wasnt gon' spend more on the engine..just the car..

(i understand most spedo's are wound back, you cant do anythign to fight that)

i no i can get a r32 in damn good cond for under 15.u just gotta look.plenty of straight versions out there

thanks for the opinions on insurance.but i have that covered.i understand what is involed in owning a car.i have been quoted $1300 for full comp insurance under my own name not my mums..im 19 have had my car insured under my name since i was able to drive

all i was wanting is peoples opinions on what SKYLINE(not commadore)they thought was the best with there own opinions and dealings with them...

Hey ego, i just bought a skyline 2 weeks ago and trust me, its not a decision i will be regretting. They are MAD in every single way possible, seriously there is very little downside.

1. They're fast

2. They're VERY good looking

3. Thery're reliable (from what ive heard from many other pple. RB25 is bulletproof)

4. The fuel economy is pretty damn good for such a powerful sports car

5. Chicks love them

6. They are very do-upable. U dont have to spend relativel much to increase power

7. Bang for your buck, they are probably the best buy on the market

8. What else do u want in a car

Word of advice for u ego. Dont be too much of a tightass when buying one. Trust me u will reget it down the track if u dont spend that extra 2-3 gran and make sure u get something with everything u want. (My mate bought an auto one trying to save himself 3 gran 6 months ago, now he is SPEWING). Its is worth getting a loan and making sure u get something ur 100% happy with otherwise what is the point of buying a skyline??!!

Good luck hope this helps

Anything older than about 5 years old will have the odo wound back, because before then the rules on odo tampering were a lot softer. Even log books can be faked, so buy based on condition rather than kms. I was very happy with my 130,000kms R32 as it was in better condition than a lot of the "80,000 kms" R32s on sale at the time, with only very minor wear on the steering wheel and it was generally very clean.

If you want a cheap R32 turbo (ie under $10k) then be quick as the last of the 15 yo imports are coming through now, and after that you are looking at probably $2-3k more for the same vehicle due to compliance costs. My 1989 model left me with change from $10k registered and on the road (3rd party insurance helped there).

If $15k is your absolute budget, I would recommend the R32 as you will hopefully have some left over cash for maintenance, tyres, insurance, rego etc.

Well, pitty you don't want an auto. There is a BIG saving there esspecially a 33 4door auto. But I understand you want a real car.

It should come down to personal prefferance, what do you prefer the most? I myself prefer 32's.

Drift. you need to expect to spend money to repair and maintain it.

you should see what people think about a 32 vs 33 for drift.

I have been in 32 and 33 drift cars quite a few times. And from that I can strongly agree with the driver that they are very different cars to drift. The 32 was snappy. The 33 was much smoother.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
