Anyone here put their battery in their gtst in the boot of their car?

I was going to rewire the bosch 044 fuel pump for a direct feed from the battery, and i need the space in the engine bay for a remote mount filter, and catch tank.....so im gunna move it to the boot. :)

I know i have to run a + cable to the front...

Do i need to put the battery in one of them battery boxes?

Ive got a Delkor Calcium battery (660cca) Is that ok to use in the boot (dunno if it qualifies as a sealed battery or not)?

Any tips, or things i need to watch out for are appreciated.

i did it in 180sx, ran thick cable to battery one of those sealed type from wrxhoon in gb section good battery, in a 20-30$ plastic box from supercheap

made another ground in the back and used some cable ties pretty straight forward just make sure cable not rubbing on any exposed metal anywhere use a bit of foam or grommets

yeah, just run a good wire to the front, otherside of the car to your amp wires (if your using any) as sometimes you get interference :P

otehr than that, thats what ill be doing.

Having it sit next to my surgie

not using an amp, or running a surge tank (but i dont know if i will one day :P)

Ive got some 10mm thick cable i can use for the + wire (its insulation is red too....bonus :P)

Dunno anywhere to earth it though, as my boot still has all the origional trim inplace....would any part of the car do, so long as its a good contact point?

Yes, good contact point is a must. Sand down the paint to the metal. I would mount the battery in a box on the passenger side of the boot. Run the wiring down the drivers side and then across in front of the petrol tank and to the left side of the boot. As noted above, make sure that it is not rubbing on any metal and/or sharp edges. If it has to go across a sharp edge, use some rubber sleeves (cut some rubber hose down the centre) and wrap it around the cable. Use cable ties to secure it in place.

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
