Great going Sam.

Any 60' sub 2.0 secs on true street tyres is something to be proud of.

Mid 13s on your first ever trip to the track is no mean feat either.

MPH says there's a little more in her yet too!

After Danh's issues earlier in the day, we lost interest in running last night, so poker it was.

Thanks guys :D

too bad you couldnt make it down, i was looking forward to seeing the Calais & GT-R run down the strip.

heres my best timeslip, lol @ my R/T on this one! i did my burnout dropped it out of gear & forgot to put it back into gear afterwards :P thankfully the R/T doesn't affect the ET :D

btw - im #647, left lane.

You launched well with that power, street tyres and weight Sam

Try some semislick next time and you could be in the 12.

Sorry for the absence. Hopefully I will get my track toilet to the drag strip soon :D

nice 60" sam..... My car is having boost problems.... (only operating at factory levels and some huge knock --> ive seen 130 a couple of times)... Hoping to get it sorted b4 friday..... hope to see you guys at the next lot of drags...

cheers guys! SAU drag day sounds like a good idea to me. I was one of only 3 skylines there. the other was a stock looking R31 silo that did 11s and the other was an R32 GT-R running huge slicks and in the 10s!!! i lined up against them both and got totally blitzed :P

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.

Would have been nice to watch.

BTW is anyone coming out to spectate this Saturday at AIR?

Keir is coming out. Hopefully he will complete the R&D with the first few runs. He's expecting to dial in the max amount of nos with treaded radial ( if everything go well). It will be fun to watch.

hey theres two r31's the one that has the twin turbo v8 was at "prostock" and ran into 10's from what i hear. the other is a mate and ran a 11.6 (guy works for madaz) or so its na with a gt turbo and aftermarket tunning. both are gts1's !!!

we should organise a SAU drag day at the beginning of next year.  Book a fully prep track and have as many runs as possible.

imo that would cost a bit

i was looking into booking out malla for a drive day and for 30 ppls it was gunna cost us all 400bux as u can imagine i didnt get alot of interest ...this was when i had my R31

remeber i was checking out a drive day @ mallala with the guys from that racing mob where u drive there race prep'd commo's cept i said we didnt want those we drive our 'lines we were gunna get instructors tuition if u wanted it i think lunch it was a full day with 2 instructors also :(

Danh, how did Keir go on the weekend?

track was poorly prepared

we got there early and keir did not run until 2ish

keir had only one run and could not get the power to the ground anywhere

we packed up and left after that :(

a few beers and late lunch with the boys was the only good part of the day :)

oh I forgot,

apparently after we left the track was shut down for 2 hours by Andra due to the sun. Timing gears broke after that and everyone race with out timing gear :(

Can't wait to see better management at AIR and the timing board back on the stands :) Lets not organise anything at AIR until we see some improvement. The place is quite embarassing for south australian compare to avenues in other states.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
