  1. did you not read my post up above?
  2. Why disable it though? My headunit only makes the aerial come up when in FM mode. When listening to cds, it's down. Some headunits have a separate remote wire and separate aerial wire. Does yours have separate? perhaps it was connected wrong?
  3. I'm not sure about a fuse, but if you take the headunit out, there is a wire that controls the remote aerial. Sorry, I don't know what the colour is, look at the headunit installation guide thread. Etiher that, or disconnect the power to the aerial unit from just under it. NB: signal will not be that good with the aerial inside the car. it's good though if you only listen to cds.
  4. Sure it's rare, but it's hardly a collectable item. Cars are only worth as much as people are willing to pay for them. The car is unlikely to appreciate in value. 56k is a lot of money for an r33 gtr. A lot of people would pick a an r34 gtr instead of that car, considering 34 vspecs can be had for around 60k these days. Imo, consider yourself lucky that you have a genuine buyer for 56 and sell it. It's hard to find someone who actually values the car for what it is and you may not get the chance again.
  5. Bump fellars, offer me a swap of something of equal value or make a price offer if you want .
  6. Maybe the person who issued you with it didn't record it somehow? ahem cough cough
  7. Please post a price as per forum rules. This is not ebay. Interested.
  8. Read my reply above and I'm sure that you'll agree that it is not harsh at all. I understand that we get reamed by the cops for silly thigns like pod filters/bov/exhaust when it's not really causing anyone harm. I said that I have sympathy for those people. I also said that I have sympathy for those peopel that get reamed for minor things e.g. 83k in an 80 zone. BUT 34 ks over? that is no minor slip. That isn't like oh, I just didnt' pay attention to the speed and road. Do you know what I imagined when I read his post? 'oh, I saw this whole line of cars on the left and the lane ont he right was clear. I just got my car and like to drive fast, so I floored it to the max. Engine was blazing, exhaust was blasting as I flew past them. Cops stoped me when I was doing 114k. Damn.' 34 ks = no sympathy. You don't just slip 34 ks. I'm sure you'll understand that my reply was not harsh. I have been in a similar situation before when I was young and first started driving. I learnt the hard way.....
  9. Hmmm, that's strange that he has trouble fitting into the car. I'm slightly over 6 foot, and I don't have any troubles at all. There are some forum members who are 6ft 4' and still fit in. I woulda thought that most of the height difference would be in the legs, so an option might be to move the seat back more? Otherwise, you can't really change the rail on the stock seat without extensive modification. The bride and recaro rails are quite low when used in combo with their seats.
  10. You were wrong, so bite the bullet. 114 in an 80 k zone is 34 ks over! It wasn't just an oops I slipped sort of thing. If you had said oh, it was an 80 k zone and I got done doing 83, then you would have my sympathy. Just a minor slip. Bite the bullet, and that 1month suspension. It will give you time to reflect on what you've done when you are unable to work and ahve to ride the bus. I thought this was going to be abount cops picking on us as import drivers and defecting cars. I have full sympathy for those defected over small things. I doubt you'd be able to get an exemption. PS: I understand my post may seem harsh, but i have been in that situation before. I learnt from my mistake. I am not saying that I never speed, but I understand that I run the risk of getting caught.
  11. Tell your dad to f**k the hell off. Seriously. Tell him he's an old man and that he isn't a car expert. That is, unless if he actually knows things, which is unlikely based on his response. When I first got my car, my stupid 'know it all' dad goes oh yeah, it's gonna have no power until you get the turbo 'cooking'. He goes, nah, it'll be slow too. Taking him for a spin aroudn the block shut his uneducated mouth up quick smart. Secondly, I normally shift at 2.5k rpm around town. Driving fast in small streets is just stupid. When doing mountain passes/trackwork, I shift at any rpm, whatever iis required and i'm not scared to rev it.
  12. There was a thread debate about this about a month ago. It had all the reasons for and against. Personally, I believe in the split.
  13. Fellars, new parts have been added.
  14. That was a mega chop. When we did my friend's one, all we did was trim it from the back. Initially using a grinder, then using a fine file. Hahaha, were you really panicked? I reckon you could have got away with just trimming it from the back.
  15. What's an impala?
  16. remove head light and tip upside down and try and grab it with tweezers.
  17. I wouldkn't worry about using a torch wrench to tighten things like exhaust bolts. For that sort of thing, just do it until it's tight using the appropriate spanner. If it's an aftermarket exhaust, chances are the surfaces are not flush etc.
  18. Fellars, i'm willing to trade with items of similar value.
  19. Good choice on the 235s. I always say that for an 8" rim, 235 would be the best all round width. Every few weeks, a thread always pops up asking what the widest tyre you can fit on x rim is. You could probably fit a 295 on an 8" rim, but it'd drive liek shit.
  20. It's not just commodore drivers though. Boganism is a problem that infests this country. As Ryan said above, while the mullet ridden commo driver is the steriotypical bogan, bogans drive all sorts of cars, fords, r31s, lancers, pintaras, and s13 silvias. usually, they don't have nice cars, because they're bogans and can't get jobs.
