  1. If that was in HPI they're letting the standards slip each issue... I liked that magazine Speed that was around a while ago... wish something like that was available as an alternative..
  2. This thread's still going Rice: Modifications such as Neons, Fart Cans, Vinyls to give the illusion of speed or a show appearance usually performed on (but not limited to) economy cars... Rice Burner: What some people call Jap cars... /thread
  3. Short answer to that would probably be no... not an overly large demand for titanium tube afaik... tube is mostly industry driven resulting in Mild steel being at the top of the availability list then Stainless followed by Aluminium. Having said that I'd be interested to know how you go with this.... Are you choosing to go with titanium for weight reasons?
  4. I asked this question not long go. I got it from Here in the end Dumper King and Exhaust
  5. What are the dates for the motor show?
  6. Correct. "Rice Burner" has been around forever which collectively referred to Japanese cars in general. The earliest I know of it's use was in the 70's to refer to the RX7's in Bathurst.... possibly earlier aswell...
  7. Haha dont worry, you blend in marginally better than myself with blonde hair when I was over there
  8. I would also like to know this...
  9. I saw this Acronym once and I reckon it pretty much sums it up. Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements Alot of people call anything Japanese rice esp the V8 fan boys which I think is incorrect.
  10. Heres a more recent reply from SK re N1 oil pumps:
  11. Thats interesting SATO are we both talking about N1 pumps, not getting confised with Nismo?? both my engine builder and SK are saying the same thing, heres a direct quote from SK
  12. AFAIK the only difference with the N1's is the different casting and the pressure relief valve uses a higher rated spring.... In other words it wont actually flow any more, It will just hold pressure longer before the relief valve opens at higher rpm. The same can be acheived on the RB25/26 pumps by removing the relief valve and installing an extra washer. My engine builder informed me that a 1mm washer will bump pressure up approx 5psi.
  13. Yep you're on the money, it is a rare earth magnet...

    I'm In Denial!

Thinking about it, weight must have been an Issue for Nismo too for them to go to such lengths with the CF on the Super GT car. Imagine how often they'd be changing tyres and brakes if they didnt shave some weight off it! But not only that, power to weight is everything when it comes to performance...
  15. The SS300 I think it suits 2.5" to 3.2" Fit's the Skyline oil filter perfectly
  16. Sure mate, I got it from ebay off this guy: Ebay Member And the product website is: www.filtermag.com If I remember correctly the website has alot of pics of filter's cut in half... take them as you will, no doubt they only posted pics with the largest build up of fine iron, but in all honesty I can't see how it wouldn't work, since the dirty oil passes through the outside of the filter past the magnet before being pulled through the filter core. I've also heard that the A'PEXi UFO filters use a magnet aswell. The benefit of this one is that you can swap ot over to your new filter with every oil change.
  17. Haha well I bought it specifically for whilst running in my new motor, I also have a magnetic sump plug, the g/f's dad has one one of the plugs his Gen III which picks up alot of cr@p too.
  18. Nah It goes on the oil filter, the instructions strictly state not to remove the magnet until you remove the entire filter (logically for that reason) It came to a total of $50
  19. My Filtermag arrived today from the USA, probably not really worth posting about, but since I wasnt able to find one in Australia I figured I would anyway. The concept is that your oil filter cannot phyically filter out all of the metal shavings produced as part of engine operation. If it could, the filter would have to be so fine that Oil itself couldn't pass through. Instead, the fine iron particles are attracted to the the magnet and removed from the oil circulating through your engine. I tested it on a spare oil filters in the garage and damn it's a powerful mofo! once that b1tch is on it won't come off too easily! Has anyone else tried them out? Comments?? etc?
  20. Isnt it part of the oil pressure sender?
  21. I powder coated mine. Personally I wouldnt settle for anything less than powder coating as it's about the toughest painted surface you can get.
  22. Sorry but I'd choose th GN+ I was torn for quite a while between those and the BIM DHS AE034's... purely because I seriously doubt you'd ever see anyone else with the BIM's and they are just a sexy looking wheel! and Uber Japanese! I think they look best in the Gunblue or Bronze... couldnt find any on a skyline but you get the idea!
  23. That looks impressive Al, could you share specs? reminds me of where I was 2 months ago
  24. Ahh my appologies Al i see what you're saying now! Speaking of the high capacity sumps can anyone tell me if the Extreme turbo manifold sumps will fit an R33?
  25. I personally wouldnt do that Dan, seems a bit too crude for my liking! take it off and grind the fins back! Al I think you quoted the wrong guy there, I was referring to taking the sump off to fix my Oil pressure issues!
