  1. Will be a great build, good to see it will get used too! In regards to cages, im getting an AGI CAMS spec bolt in half cage for the events I want to do in Vic. This will only cost me 650 (delivery would be extra if your not in NSW). They do them all from bolt in half/full cages and also weld in, however that may not work for you. Their quality looks spot on, and they just look professional. Worth a look if your willing to spend 1500 on a non CAMS cage! Best of luck with the build!
  2. Right so the next update, Took the car down to Heasman Steering to get an alignment and corner weight. Corner weight is now within .5KG on the front. Its out a few in the back but the main thing is the weight is the same on the front wheels. Some pics whilst I was down there, were some great cars going through and a few getting ready for WTAC All packed up for the Motorkhana that was being held out at Narimba Tafe.... Didnt end well for me! Was getting to 4000 revs and cutting out. Checked everything starting with the pump, including pulling the plugs (thanks to Jez for suggestions on what to check). In the end the fuel pump had carked it. So I now know what it sounds like and acts when the fuel pump simply cant keep up. Now has a new Walbro in place, much much quieter than the Bosch i have to say. Will now wait paitently while I find a free weekend to take the car out. With work and moving interstate i doubt I will actually get it out until next year. The next thing on the shopping list is an AGI bolt in half cage as its needed for drift events in Vic, so that will be ordered soon and installed at the start of next year. At the same time ill be putting in a genuine Takata harness for me and a fake for the passenger seat. Will re-asses the fake once i see how it handles it/ how many people will actually be in the seat.
  3. Is there a website such as revtuneracing.com in NSW that colates all event info?
  4. Yeah Bosch 040, Walbro now in. It was in there when i bought the car, plus ingested some shit from the bottom of the tank. But was fine on the dyno when tuning! Oh well!
  5. Thanks for putting on the event guys, was a very smooth run day. These events needs to continue as they are cheap fun and improve driving skills ten fold. Thought there would be a pic of my with my head in the boot or bonnet haha!! Turned out its just a stuffed fuel pump! When it was put under load the pump couldnt keep up, however thats why it could free rev! New one is already in and ill be at the next event i can make!!! Need to give it a bluddy run! Cheers again all, sorry to those i didnt catch up with or say goodbye too as i had to get the car off to the mechanic for him to make sure it wasnt something massive!
  6. Ah thank you, havent re-read the first post since i entered. Just to confirm, will seem silly to those that have been around RBs all their life however. Do you class the RB25 in the under 2.5l class as they are 2498cc? (yes logic and common sense says that it is but ill ask the stupid question so im 100%) That would mean the RB26 and RB30 etc in one class, then Rb20/25 in the other? Is this how most SAU events are run?
  7. Looking forward to Sunday. Do we have any sup regs yet? Will the course just be decided and changed on the day? Want to make sure my car isnt missing anything that you guys deem important as its my first event with the SAU
  8. Fantastic, thanks mate. I think ill drive it a bit (hard with a track car), see if that moves a few things around then give the brakes another bleed. Hopfully that will remove the last of the spongyness! Cheers
  9. It would be worth putting up the build numbers too. A good way to identify the cars other than location, when they start moving between owners etc
  10. Yeah in line, thats the way i bleed it. Doesnt seem right though, as the fluid should be all the way through the system there shouldnt be movement from another component when using the handbrake, surely!
  11. Thanks mate, very happy to be near the end so i can enjoy it. Handbrake in, not bleed correctly so ill need to check that out, must be doing it wrong. Found some surface rust where the passenger sill has taken a bit of a hit, cleaned all that up and sprayed on some stone guard. Also cleaned up the underside of where i had welded. Both the plates and little holes that were no longer needed. Covered that with stone guard after some kill rust so hopfully nothing with get stuck in there. Finished interior for now! Booked in for Tuesday for 4 wheel alignment and corner weighing at Heasman Steering. Then its track time! Not sure what will be the first event. Have booked the motorkhana but would like to get it out to the drags to have a drive and weigh it first. Cheers
  12. Gday guys, Ive just completed the install of a hydraulic handbrake in my R32 GTST, with Z32 brakes. The question is, whats the procedure of pressure bleeding the lines with a hydraulic handbrake in there? The way i did it was as if it wasnt there, just bleed the rear brakes like normal without touching the handbrake. So its not right, theres lack of pressure in there some where. When i pull the handbrake i can feel the brake pedal go down with my foot on it. Do i need to open both rear brakes and pull the handbrake? Anyone out there done it with a pressure bleeder rather than two people. Thanks
  13. Thanks mate, tryed to make it decent on the inside. Few little things but i also didnt spend thousands on the paint haha. Yeah, I wasnt lucky at all. didnt even have it running for long. Oh well all back together and am finally almost done. So a bit of work over the weekend. 3 litre catch can in, pritty bluddy big but needed for CAMS. Front strut brace, fire extinguisher and cleaned up the ECU. Will most likely put it in the glove box a bit down the track. Last job is the hydraulic handbrake. Im currently 40cm worth of braided brake line away from being bluddy finished! The kit from HEL is pritty good, however the line from the master cylinder to the handbrake is 40cm too short. So will be a rush to Pirtek tomorrow before work, then fitting it up and bleeding the brakes during my lunch break, then off to Heasman Steering for an alignment and corner weighing. Hopefully it all goes to plan tomorrow! Plus gave it a wash, after a year of ownership! Last, the dyno chart from Jez. Its only a turbo away from decent power. Current power perfect for me at the moment.
  14. Gday mate, if your reading replays to your thread do you have the ash tray? If so how much posted to 2173? Thanks
  15. Update time! Picked the car up from Jez the mechanic/tuner today. Am stoked to have it back. While he had it he did the following: Replaced the engine with another series 2 RB25DET On the engine replaced: Rear main seal Timing belt Water pump Filters, lines, gaskets etc Cam seals Belts etc Also replaced An engine mount Alloy radiator as the factory one burst a tank Tuned using a Z32 ECU with Nistune. Ended up with 195RWKW and 550NM. Tuned at 16 PSI however its an aftermarket factory turbo. Doesnt worry me as everything is set up for me to get more power with another turbo when its needed. Few jobs to finish up now i have it back in the shed Fit 3l catch can Fire extinguisher Front strut brace Bonnet pins Hydraulic handbrake Will also give it it first wash since ownership (about a year!). Booked in with Heasman Steering on Tuesday for an alignment and corner weight. Then off to the drags on wednesday so i can weigh it and have some fun in the car finally. Then a motorkhana with the SAU on the 26th. Wrapped to be finally driving it and enjoying it. Few pics: Seized exhaust cam from lack of oil Replacing the timing belt etc On the dyno And picked up from the tuner, bluddy great day!! Should get a bit of work done to it over the long weekend too
  16. Gday guys, Have a RB25DET series 2 for sale. Exhaust cam has seized and snapped some valves. Bottom end may be ok, but this engine suits rebuilding. Exhaust cam seized due to lack of oil, so i just had the engine replaced. No accessories on the engine either, what you see is what you get. Located out near Liverpool NSW (Wattle Grove) $500 engine stand included PM here or 0421 845 346 Cheers
  17. All paid up, looking forward to the day. Have the sup regs been sorted yet?
  18. Thanks mate, guess i dont need to go with a negative offset. I just wanted to give the wheels the best chance to no scrub at full lock. Plus have a decent track for control. Yeah standard knuckles.
  19. Looks like ill be able to make it 90% so thats enough for me to lock it in!!! Are there spots left? Cheers
  20. Was just thinking of that offset. Was wondering what would be a good ofset to run
  21. Gday everyone, Have been doing a bit of reading on the net but nothing has really stood out to me. Those that actually use their car for track work what offset do you use? Looking to buy a set of 17s to use, but unsure of the best offset. Dont want to use spacers. Im thinking something around the -10 or -20 is the go? Remembering this isnt a registered car. Cheers
