hurry and fit the oil restrictor, you can damage the turbo very quickly... best to put it on the turbo, something like this. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TP&Product_Code=ATP-OIL-021&Category_Code=

Help Me Understand These Power Fc Settings...

this was on a single turbo setup, i moved the afm far away from the turbo which fixed my issues. -

well stop looking soo much into it and just adjust the areas of the map that need weaking and lean it off. leave everything else the way it is. why touch something thats not broke ? -
Help Me Understand These Power Fc Settings...

are you having issues with the way the air flow curve goes down the map during a power run ? or cruising? if everything is working fine then just leave it and fix the issues you have. or re-set the pfc and start again. i used to play with the air flow curves, but i had a q45 afm and major reversion issues. -
i agree.. sometimes its frustrating having to shift through 100 threads and then you are still unsure and unable to go back to read something you read 2 hours ago because you have lost the thread. its always good to have a complete howto, it can't hurt right ?

they are the same pistons i used in my latest 30/26.. the compression is still low so we shaved 0.3mm from the head. no idea what it brings it up to, but it feels better on the street.

how much did you pickup the -5s for ?

the 2510's did not nose over up top at all, but it had a 7000rpm rev limit being a rb30, the 2510s are similar to the gt2560r SR20 turbo. specs of 2510s HKS GT2510 - 300 PS Output COMPRESSOR: -Wheel- 63 Trim - 47.7 Inducer / 60.1 Major -Housing- 60 Inlet / 50 Outlet - 0.60 A/R TURBINE: -Wheel- 62 Trim - 53.0 Major / 41.7 Exducer -Housing- GT25 inlet / Internal GT25 oulet - 0.64 A/R Specs of the -9s Turbo Comparison Sheet Compressor Ind Whl Dia(mm) 47.20 Exd Whl Dia(mm) 60.10 Trim 62 A/R 0.60 Turbine Whl Dia(mm) 53.90 Trim 76 A/R 0.86 so the -9s have a .86 rear housing on them ? that will be good on the 3 litre, the 2510s had .64 rear housings.

going to bump this thread... awesome read.. did the guy actually buy a set of turbos or what? seems like alot of posting with no actual purchase? lol just purchased a set of -9s for my rb30dett 350z, its got a set of 259 9.15 cams in it, nitto drag gasket and cp pistons with 8.5 compression hoping to have a very responsive street car and will try and get 350kw out of it! I had a set of hks 2510s but they started leaking oil, so the -9s should be in soon, how do we think the 9s will go on a 3 litre ? keeping in mind i really loved the 2510's... hope the -9s will do better.
-
I am after a set of hks 2530's or 2860 -5 or -9 s. must be able to post.

Guilt-toy In Georgia (former Soviet Union)
Guilt-Toy replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
been a busy week, Red R Racing, the Dirt man has come to visit! and what an eventful day we had today.... on the way to the dyno i am renting we both nearly got arrested and sent to jail, me for racing and he for taking a picture of the police who pulled us over, they even chucked him in the back of the paddy wagon until he agreed to delete all the pictures he took, I got let off because the customer / friend who i was racing is a vip, and the car i was driving is owned by a vip from another country and it would be a massive headache for them to impound the car, the copper made it clear that he could arrest me and not impound the car but i think my friend egged the police on to give me a scare because the look on both their faces kinda gave it away when they were walking towards me.... anyway we tuned both cars, one made 470hp at 4 wheels and the other 330hp at 4 wheels. both were nissan 5.6 litre v8's, one with a supercharger and one with a turbo running vipec v88's it was good having the dirt man around when tuning, he helped out quite a bit! good help on the dyno is hard to find here.... got my 350z back from a new paint job and engine rebuild with forgies, but i think the valve stem seals are a bit buggered i did not have any to replace them this time because i replaced them 2 months ago... here is a pic of the Dirt man in my 350z, he drove it home for me while i drove the r32 home. and here is the z now, its lookin pretty nice.. the whole paint job only cost $500 last week we finished off stage one of the twin turbo Jeep SRT8 that we been working on, and i tuned the stock ecu with Diablosport its a 6.4 litre v8 running twin gt35r's and we just tuned it on low boost, 10 psi... it made 630hp at 4 wheels and ran 11.3 on normal street tyres with a slipping transmission which is not bad, we need to turn the boost up to 25psi for the next season and do alot of work on the drive train / bushing / suspension for the car to handle big mph without bunnyhopping around. -
An Alternative Ecu Choice Worth Considering.
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
have you tried to email andy about it? he has been able to make some seriously cool aux tables to make pretty much anything work, it might not be there as a standard table but the guru will be able to rig it up for you in no time i am sure! -
they are just an ev14 injector, it can fit but you need to make some custom spacer type shims for them to sit in. just like doing any top feed injector conversion on a rb25 - pretty standard stuff, so $325 for the injectors, plus getting a fuel rail, and a after market regulator, then you need to stuff around with the spacers for it to fit and all the extra fuel hoses and fittings, at the end of the day it will cost a few hundred $ more then grabbing a set of used nismo 555cc side feed injectors that is a drop in.. look around there are better options out there.

Wire Lenght Of Ls2 Coil Conversion On Rb26 ?
Guilt-Toy replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
you can only cut the ones that comes in the kit because it comes with what you need to remake the shorter ones. -
i love it how you can see the smoke exiting from the screamer as well.. hahahahaa

its just a pain in the ass exporting a engine, otherwise i would help export from the UAE, its just that i don't have time or my time is best invested elsewhere... fly to the uae, call me and il tell you where to go and you can buy them yourself and do all the work yourself... should be able to find 2 or 3 here without any issues anytime you need.

Strange Dyno Results; Limit Of Safc 2 Or Tuning Fault?
Guilt-Toy replied to Pattey21's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
at the end of the day you have given the guy a piece of shit solution to a problem. when you tune with a safc you can only move the afm voltage up and down, its never going to be good like a aftermarket ecu. stop complaining, and buy a decent ecu. congrats you have now learnt your lesson, just be glad a new engine is not needed. -

Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
what i do not understand, if a tuner is worth anything he should be able to suss out a new ecu and tune it with minimal fuss, i mean just because you are using a different ecu it does not mean the engine runs any different... here in the UAE its like this, most workshops specialise in one platform and thats all they do, where I can tune 20+ different solutions or anything thats put infront of me, if its got a windows program and a laptop cable im willing to tackle anything. search around, you might find someone not so closed minded, also tell the tuner that adaptronic has great email support! during the day you can get a reply within the hour sometimes. good luck and let us know how you go.
