  1. cam timing once robbed me 100hp on my rb30det about 5 years ago.... +1 on cam timing!
  2. it is not an ecu.. its a piggy back gender bender. is the car auto or manual?
  3. id be checking the fuel pressure mate. see if its changing. do you have a intank walbro or something ?
  4. lol.. it looks like a rear oil "feed" never seen that before
  5. smell the ecu, this might sound funny but you will be able to tell if something is burnt inside the ecu.... you will not miss the smell if its there. is there any lights on ? when you crank over the engine any lights flashing? it could just be a fuse, the ecu plug on microtech's are not the most reliable ones around but i have seen worse.
  6. probly still better then running a set of 1600cc injectors from a old yank tank.
  7. ^^^^ he knows he knows
  8. supply on demand... more demand for a 25 balancer i guess? also you will find the power steering belt is different on the 25 to the 26.
  9. good work mate. you will love it... they are sooo reliable and dependable... thats what you need on a wide band.. good luck with it.
  10. www.adaptronic.com.au these are great I just do not understand how a tuner could tune one ecu, but not another.
  11. the t04z still gets the job done
  12. start again and get a new sensor with the TE. peace of mind is a good thing and they are not very expensive anyway. I am pretty sure depo is a china brand.
  13. Yup. it is a good idea to grab a LX1 display to go with it if you can afford it. that way you can be sure the input settings are correct in the software on your ecu because you can compare it with the external display, also if the car leans out when your into it you can see it on the fly.
  14. yeah i got the 3A2 as well, had it since 2007 i think... its still going strong. its got the usb interface. its been dropped, wet, left in 55deg + heat for days on end and its still going strong. I also go the basic 2j2 unit. if you want a good unit for tuning cars then grab 3a, if you just want one for one car the 2j2 works great. these things are rock solid, why bother with the seppoes crap ? you dont use AEM computers why use AEM wide bands ? its just silly.
  15. if you are aussie there is no reason why you should not use the techedge. you don't even have to buy the display with it which makes it cheaper. been using them for years, and i own 2 units now. cannot fault them at all. I even had a issue with the long sensor cable and he was nice enough to replace it for me for free when it was not really even covered under warranty and the turn around time for the repair was only 2 days. all parts and cables are available to purchase seperatly, so you don't have to buy a whole new wideband sensor if you destroy the power cable or the wide band cable. all he does and all he has ever done is build wideband meters, no one knows as much about wide band as this guy. cannot beat that shit.
  16. been doing this for years... all it does is stops the fuel getting hotter for an extra hour or so... so it really just masks the issue. i use a trans cooler from some car, i cannot remember what.
  17. http://www.precisionintl.com/online/Part.aspx?CID=156673955 i have bought and used these from this company. they are in QLD. $128 for a set of rings standard size, i tuned my rb30dett up to 420hp at the wheels without any issues on about 23psi boost.
  18. ^^^^^^ I used them when i was in australia, and i buy them from here also. there is no need to buy anything else then a tech edge. http://wbo2.com/2j/2j9.htm $254 with no display. you can buy a dial gauge or a square one if needed. all the displays are backwards and forward compatible. You are not obliged to buy the sensor from tech edge also, when i need a sensor i go to the VW spare parts shop and get one from a VW Jedda! I think the late model commodore sensors fit also, there is lots of info on the web site on which sensor you can / cannot use. the guy has been making them from his home in Canberra for as long as i can remember and he will reply to a support email usually the same day and is available on the phone if you want to bug him. go tech edge, its the only option for a wide band these days IMO.
  19. nah the dude is from pakistan, and he really wants to beat his friend in a gtr... over this side of the world its easier to drop in a jz then to get a rb engine running properly without destroying it 100 times they really have no idea about anything over there... he is actually asking for help.. i have been asked to go over to pakistan to tune, but i am too scared, they have a pretty crazy racing scene over there.. no holding back.. just pure crazy dangerously stupid shit... so i have been told by my pakistani friends here. to even get a skyline over there is very hard, they are illegal. people usually chop them up in pieces then put them back together once recieved in parts...
  20. id go for a t04z, and a good built auto trans and a lsd. its not going to be easy to beat a gtr on the streets, especially over there. and even if you do beat him, its not going to take much for him to upgrade a few little things and comeback for revenge
  21. are you racing over quarter mile ? or more then quarter mile ? 600 - 700 m?
  22. i will pm you my friends phone number in paki, he loves to talk so I am sure you two will get on just fine. he will probably try and convince you out of it also.
  23. ive done the whole street racing on bad roads with a high powered RWD car against 4wd cars with less power then me, and the lack of traction is very frustrating. Even though i did manage to win, i only JUST won. I really think you need to look into your idea's and maybe change them. you are never going to get a auto laggy natured rwd high powered jz off the line fast enough to beat that GTR you have posted there. I asked my friend who lives in the UAE here, he is actually back home in Karachi visiting atm. He knows this GTR you are trying to beat. It is a GTR built by RIPS in NZ, with over 750hp. So basically you have got NO chance what so ever to beat this car, there aint many better mobs out there then RIPS in NZ. Forget about beating this car, and trying with a toyota JZ in a rwd skyline.... its never going to work, maybe if you went a 2jz with 1200+ hp with a shitload of money spent on tyres and suspension mods and some form of traction control. If you dont have an accident and kill yourself on the first run. You are talking a shitload of money. Best buy a GTR and find someone capable of building it up to the standard of that one and try and beat him in the drivers seat.
  24. *sigh* i gotta deal with paki's every day.... they get excited at the best of times.... they are also the best racers / tuners in the world.. just ask them. that gtr 1000hp ? running the stock plenum, and stock twin low mount setup ??? and an air box ? with AFMs ??? lol ??? yes that GTR is not what you say it is.. but aside from that. You will never beat a decently tuned RB gtr on the streets of karachi with a rwd 1jz / 2jz. On the street the GTR in its 4wd trim is king. give up now while you can. If you had access to a professional drag strip with international standard track prep and decent drag tyres then maybe it would be something worth looking into.
