  1. they also came out with a VG30et. and a non turbo VG20de powerhouse I want to put a VQ30det in mine. they are almost a straight bolt in job and can push 220rwkw in standard form with 14psi. I also want to put a manual box in to go with it and a mechanical LSD so i can go drifting pimp style!
  2. Thats a nice compilement! I love laurels too. it has the same rear window down look as a laurel. Pitty it isnt RB powered.
  3. Ohhh that black Cima is noice! Here are some photos of my Y31 Gloria with a VG20DET and 5 speed auto. It isnt as cool as the black cima but cost probably cost me 1/2 as much
  4. if it only happens when the engine is under load then it is not the lifters. sorry dude but it sounds like you are about to spin a bearing. I hope it all works out for you. and i hope we are all wrong

  7. I had to get a custom turbo to cat pipe made up as my car is not a skyline and there was nothing available off the shelf. I got it done at liverpool exhaust and it was $330. if it was a skyline it would have been $300. It is a top job. excellent welds and no kinks anywhere. very well made. I would not do it for a skyline as there is just so much stuff available. the x-force stuff is OK but the split dump joins to close to the turbo. you would be better off with the one from batmbl. but it is twice the price. but you get what you pay for. his is the best. you should also get the cat from him. as for the rest of the system it's up to what you can find secondhand. or you could just buy a cheap x-force catback. all up you will be spending $1100 plus fitting for a well designed properly flowing system.
  8. no you don't need to remove the oil line. you are best off using a uni joint and a short 17mm socket. ( i think they are 17 arnet they) or you can get at it with a angled spanner and a hammer tapping from the top to loosen it. you only have aboutr a eighth of a turn from memory. i have taken a turbo off like 5 times and have not had to remove the oil drain untill after removing the nuts. good luck.

  10. stainless will not give any performance increase. its just going to last longer as its not going to rust.
  11. get some oil out of a gtr and put it in your engine you will gain 35rwkw. seriously tho. an rb25 turbo is a good upgrade on a rb20. other people have tried rb26 cams in an rb20 with mixed results. rb26 oil pump, they are really the only "bolt on bits" anless you want to make a rb24det.

I cant speak for the turbos as mine was not original when i git the car. but you can use an r32 ecu on a ceff rb20 and vice versa. be careful with coil packs tho. they have different resistance and peak coil capacity. the worst that can happen is a popped coil pack or 2 tho so no real biggie. no matter what bits you get you will be able to make it all plug together and work. But if possible use an R32 loom as the cefiro loom does not have the right consult port to use the consult cables you can buy to see what the engine is doing.
  15. I made 175 on the stock air flow meter and injectors with out a FPR but with a walbro and it was 12:1 up high in the rev range. I never measured duty cycle. it would have been dead near 100%. That was with an ECU remap. I also made a shade under 200 with stock injectors, AFM but with bigger fuel pump and FPR messy fueling tho:)

I would have thought with the cams and no other upgrades you would have picked up 15kw and then with the bigger exhaust housing/turbo you would make more power on the same boost with less drop off at the top. Stupid question but is it possible that you intercooler has a small leak? resulting in pressure drop at high velocity? I think you should be pulling 250rwkw
  18. my car pings going up hills with regular unleaded so i dont boost it at all on the rear occasions i have to use it. if there is no other alternative to povo fuel i will just put in what i need to get to a servo that has PULP

  22. I used to add 5 litres of tolulene to a tank of BP ultimate to my cefiro to make up 55litres of fuel. at a ratio of 10:1. Tolulene has a ron of 120 BP ultimate has a RON of 98 In australia bp ultimate has a low level of aromatic hydrocarbons and it is safe to increase that level by 30%. to if you mix a ratio of 10:1 you get 100.2 octane fuel. you can mix up to 30% tolulene and you will get an octane rating of 112!!! I never mix a ratio this high though. at 100.2 I could run .2 bar more boost and 5 degrees more ignition timing resulting in 24 more RWKW. all this was tested in an rb20 on a dyno. I did a lot of research into this last year and here is one of the more informative articles i found. http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octaneexplained.html BTW you can buy tolulene from paint stores and it is called High aromatic thinners. just check its content is 100% tolulene. a 50 litre drum was costing me $104. to to get 100.2 octane fuel it was only costing me about $9 more per tank!
