RB30, RB20, RB26, RB26 all can use the Z145A oil filter. Its a 3/4 thread oil filter. The Z442 is the same kind of 3/4 oil filter but smaller, I use the Z442 on my R33 because I have an adapter that goes to the oil cooler, therefore a Z145A does not fit in there. I would assume the larger oil filter is preferable...

I'll be sure to get round to that at some point. Why don't you do it first ? I really like the idea of having an affordable group V. I don't have anything against sougi The advice was not from an overseas person, and I'm happy with the oil. I do have an oil gauge in the car and I am aware of what temperatures it gets to. I disagree with you here but I will not debate this further, I don't have the energy/time Viscosity was discussed in the thread much earlier on... Completely agree here. However I would prefer a UOA over someone saying there engine "sounds" smoother, its a personal opinion and I'd prefer something a little more scientific. But I agree that UOA's will vary even on the same model/engine. I just wanted to voice my opinion as the last few pages are effectively about Sougi, as if there are no other oils in existence, and that's not a personal attack on anyone here, its just what I'm reading. Anyway, on this note I'll leave this thread again, have fun.

Jack Points For R33 Skyline
some_cs_student replied to LANDSCRIBBLE's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I saw it on a website for $420, that's not too unreasonable, one day. lol -
Sure, and that sounds great. But I can same the thing about other oils, so how do I know that one oil is better than another? I mean, someone could run group III in there race cars and be fine for a few a while EDIT: in fact oils like Amsoil are a group III/IV blend or similar, and that is considered a high-end oil I'm not saying that anyone here is wrong about Sougi, but the past 4 pages of posts are by a very small number of forum members, so I'm not exactly taking that as gospel, or that Sougi is a vastly superior oil to known good oils. Just FYI, I use German Castrol 0w30 recently, I've also tried Castrol 0w40 (bad!) and Amsoil 10w40, I do plan to complete a UOA next oil change, and there is plenty of evidence about the quality of German Castrol 0w30 on bobistheoilguy

You could try Jesse Streeter, see sig, I used him to import Enkei rims and he imports just about anything at a very reasonable price.

I'm seeing a lot of passion about Sougi, and that's great. But has anyone completed an used oil analysis on it yet? (UOA)? I can see comments about the quietness of the engine et cetera, but I don't think that's the best way to judge the quality of an oil. I've seen the comments about it been an affordable group V which is great if they keep making it

Jack Points For R33 Skyline
some_cs_student replied to LANDSCRIBBLE's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I use a low jack + half a brick to reach my rigid jack points Another solution is to drive the car onto something to get to a point where you can jack it, I've seen plenty of people say 'ramps' but if your car is very low its hard to find ramps low enough to put the car on. -
Jack Points For R33 Skyline
some_cs_student replied to LANDSCRIBBLE's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I use the middle of the diff to jack the rear up. You can use the jacking points on the left / right hand side. Also this was the 3rd result in google http://media.photobucket.com/image/r33%20j...kPoints.jpg?o=1 these are the official jackpoints, I only use them for the front because my jack cannot reach the chassis. -
1.5 Way Diff Centre
some_cs_student replied to BezerkR32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
+1 But you could consider shimming the standard GTR diff. -
I'm sure its accidental, but your spreading incorrect information! -5's are not HKS GTSS, they are HKS 2530 equivalent. -9 are the HKS GTSS equivalent, which I believe you meant above. Have you run these turbo's? Or did you actually run -5's? Personally I'm happy with 300 something kilowatts with good response on the RB26 for street/track, I'd also like to do E85 at some point, but I have not found the money to upgrade turbo's and related components yet

The process is very simple! Pop-open the boot, remove the covers on the passenger side of the boot, on the R33 I have you will find a couple of gold coloured nuts, these hold the aerial box in. Remove the factory jack, and reach down the side, you will feel the little box that pushes the aerial up. Remove the nuts from inside the boot and it will come free. There are power wires running into the aerial box it so not sure exactly what your replacing... By the way, I don't know the correct name for the box that contains the aerial

I'm aware that high-flowing something is a little annoying for the mechanic involved, however my point was, as per hypergear's post: In reference to using a 2860RS core on GTR turbo's. So the extra torque / approx power level is what I'm referring to. I found a little info on the 300ZX forums but I'm not a member there and they do have 3litre engines.

Hypergear are offering high flows with 2860RS CHRA's around the same price as the -9's. Has anyone tried them?

What Does This Button Do?
some_cs_student replied to TUF250's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sounds like the up/down switch for the aerial. Which is really high or really high (it doesn't got down unless there is no radio input) -
I use the FI seal as well, its very good

I'm running approx 5 / 3.2 in an R33 GTR. I find it a little hard but the dampener has plenty of adjustment that I can play with and it seems to make quite a large difference. Ride quality is pretty good except on rough roads...which they're are plenty of in Melb Car handled excellently at Sandown, Centreline was quite impressed and thought I was running semi-slicks when I was running some compliance tyres

Did he install an actual V44 or the plugin based on the V44?
-
Last time I spoke to an oil expert Royal Purple was not a group V, it was a blend. Are Motul a true group V? And which Motul are you referring to? Not all Motul's are group V.
-
Racepace used to get them made locally at a fair price, not sure if that is the case these days. And that's only if your getting Racepace to work on your car. Check with your tuner before you buy cam gears

Caltex are opening a whole bunch of servo's with E85 , with 100 in the next 12months serving E85 ! Initially its just 30, so yes still not practical, maybe in a year's time.
