4wd With Different Diameter Wheels
some_cs_student replied to GTS4onP's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Agreed, sorry for some reason I thought I saw *R33* in the original post, R32's will be fine the fuse is removed. And R33's you can just disconnect the front drive shaft, you don't have to remove it. -
4wd With Different Diameter Wheels
some_cs_student replied to GTS4onP's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Different rim sizes and different tyre sizes front and wheel? ATTESA will be a little confused... You want to pull the fuse out without disconnecting the drive shaft? Do more searching in the forum, I assume its the same or very similar to an R33 GTR setup -
My apologies then, I'm confusing careless driving with failure to have full control of vehicle. I'll edit my above post. EDIT: I can't edit my previous post for some reason, unless an admin wants to do it for me

Payment sent for relocation kit for RB26, awaiting delivery...

Since when? Careless used to be a fine a couple years ago, no summons no demerit point loss.

Hmmm, I can't remember if its the R32 and R33 boxes that are different or the series 1 and 2. Did your original airbox have the hole in the side of the airbox? (ie. one hole for the snorkel to connect to, and another on the side near the filter).

Normal Headlights Turn Off When High Beems Come On.

My R33 keeps the lights on with highbeam, maybe its because there xenons? Anyway, you can probably challenge the pink slip in writing... -
Really Really Really Really Dumb Question

Price Of Transmission Oils
some_cs_student replied to and3_3's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That castrol stuff? Hmmm, I'd say between $10-30 /litre until you give some real information Also try performancelub.com he sells some oils fairly cheap... -
Gtr Diffs Electrical Or Mechanical?
some_cs_student replied to datto101's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Rustic engineering sells torque split controllers, I don't think my spelling is right, they were doing a group buy at one point. I think the alias was Lunatikk or similar. Anyway, R33 / R34's cannot be run in RWD only mode for long as there is always some engagement of the front wheels...R32's don't have an issue with using RWD. -
Help! Need Melb Auto Elec To Replace Jap Alarm!
some_cs_student replied to slknv's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
SAU Vic members get access to someone who does discount alarm installs, but it sounds like they may have done some damage there.... Signup info in the Vic forum area of SAU. Oh, be aware that name and shame is not allowed on SAU. -
Hi, After making so many threads about oil coolers I think this thing in the LHS of my front bar that I couldn't identify before is actually a cooler, from the side it looks like a triangular shape, but from the front it looks like a cooler mounted on an angle in the front bar . The pics aren't the best as it's hard to see...and I had to use the imageshack website because SAU's image functionality hasn't been fixed (yet). Regards, Gareth

Anyone from SAU work in Burnley ? I might be moving to the city in the not too distant future, but I'm still going to be closer to St Kilda area, just past domain interchange (which still counts as Melbourne rather than St Kilda ).

According to the automated camera definition of running a red, your front wheels must cross the line at the start of the pedestrian crossing, or close to the stopping line 0.5seconds after the light goes red. EDIT: The police definition will obviously be more strict, as they can judge that you "could have safely stopped". I'd recommend finding a good solicitor, judge's tend to hate when people are defending themselves and have a history and are about to lose there license, then again they also are against incorrectly issued fines so if you were careful with the amber light you might get off it

Hi, Probably a known issue but the homepage of SAU is not scaling the gallery images down. The random gallery image is sizes like: 576px × 768px Refresh gets me 1024px × 768px. Which is re-arranging the layout of the front page... I'm referring to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/home.html Does only appear to happen when I'm logged in, otherwise its a "You have reached your bandwidth limit and can not view this image" Regards, Gareth

Hey, Apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum, there's plenty of discussion of cooling/oil here... Still purchasing an oil cooler / relocation kit due to all the other complications I've had with doing an oil change, lol. Anyway, on the R33 GTR's, I have a 400R front bar, is it possible to locate a large oil cooler in the RHS / drivers side of the bar? The cooler is close to 11*11cm. Or should I buy extra long hoses and put it in the LHS of the bar? Getting one that goes in the RHS of the bar is obviously easier, but I can get one to go into the LHS / passenger side of the bar if its the recommended way on a GTR. Regards, Gareth

Not 100% sure about the R32's but for my R33 I got a new clutch fan, if you are having issues with just the fan it shouldn't cost much, but the clutch fan costs about $300 brand new and it was the same model as a Nissan patrol or something (search my previous posts on this). Not sure if the R32 fan will be exactly the same as the R33, I also have an RB26 so not sure if the different sized engines have different fans on them... Many of the posts I've seen on thermo's have been negative, personally I wouldn't use them on a skyline. Second hand clutch fans can be very cheap if you look hard enough

You don't like it? I hate it Yes its a bit too small for my liking as well, there is no room down there, I believe its a Greddy sandwich plate and there's no room down there for a full-sized filter, I'm looking at buying a oil filter relocation kit + cooler and fitting that with a normal filter...(that's my current plan anyway). It's the same thread pattern to a Z145A but its about 1/4 the size and there is no chance of fitting a Z145A down there. Trying to work out if I can get the oil cooler on the LHS of the front bar, which means long lines for it...."Hall Sales" has helped me look at a Permacool oil cooler so far (with the much needed relocation kit).

Hi, Finally got the filter out of the car but can't identify it, its from an R33 GTR. East coast was unsure, I haven't gone to Repco yet and the filters on the internet don't look right, eg. http://www.mak-filters.com/photos/27.jpg http://www.mak-filters.com/products.php?op...ails&fid=75 Matches the Nissan part number... Differences Between S2 And S3 R33 Gtr

Looks like an original series 3 front bar and lower lip too. -
Is $400 About Right To Install An Oil Cooler?
some_cs_student replied to some_cs_student's topic in Victoria
Thanks, yes definitely looking at that, the oil temperature stays around 70 degrees during winter, and 80 degrees with a spirited driver during slightly warmer weather. NOTE: running 5w40 oil so nothing too thick there either I've got a quote for the cooler with thermostat, so no I just need to work out how to fit it myself
