This shit's me to tears. However, I have also noticed an increasing ammount of people, whether it be in slow stop/start situation in the city (Sydney) or while cruising on the motorway, eyes glued to their crotch... so there's either a mastubatory problem or a mobile phone problem... Even when maintaining a decent gap, it doesn't take much of a split second with eyes of the road to find yourself rear ending the person in front of you because free flowing traffic has come to a stand still (this links back to training because people don't know how to merge).

I really think there needs to be mandatory Drivers-Ed classes in school.

I have a 95 R33 GTS-T When I first bought it, dailyed 800km/week, didn't drive it on weekends cause I was paranoid of the "police magnet" stigma (drive to work was odd hours and back roads), parked in an ungated complex right out the front of my unit. Moved to Sydney (Inner East), no need to drive as a walked everywhere, car was street parked for weeks at a time, often 5-10 minute walk from my house, sometimes I wouldn't see it for a week because it wasn't parked on my route to work, or if I went on holidays (2-3 weeks with no idea if it would still be there), never had any issues other than a few touch-parker incidents. Had an alarm/immobiliser and I always used a steering lock and car cover. It's back to being my daily again, although much less km's than the first, it's now parked in an underground secure car park (although this aspect of my new place was more so that I could work on the car than for security), it gets parked at the train station once a week, shopping centers, etc. no issues yet. It's for this reason I could never justify a "nice" car or spending money on the aesthetics of this one (paint, dent repair, etc). The GTS-T perfectly suits this, I just keep the interior nice and engine well serviced and mechanically sound and don't care about the exterior, especially since I've been tracking it as well.

Fair call... other than mx-5 but in the same league (actually not really cause FWD) I'd consider a Hyundai Excel or a Nissan Pulsar, purely because they Excel cup and Pulsar Challenge there's plenty of support for making these cars trackable At a recent sprint I attended a Hyundai Excel was 0.1 second slower than the fastest (being a Radical)

There's a few guys on the forum with Radicals which are allowed at and decimate everyone at sprints

QLD appears to however through a different mechanism, for regular ol' me it's $380 state wide for Class 1 (i.e. Car and stationwagon) interestingly there is a class for vintage, veteran, historic or street rod motor vehicles' which is $75... whether your car would qualify for this or not I do not know...

Water to air intercooler as in this it's basically using "water" or coolant to cool the charged air, and then that coolant goes through a radiator, closed system, no loss of water at all The only issue i've read with these is heat soak but that would be a high traffic street problem not a track problem.

Interesting idea, and also interested to see some results, it might even be worth installing before and after IAT sensors to measure standard vs this design. I have a few points to consider, with nothing really to back it up but my own analytical brain, so here goes: The increase in depth isn't going to double the IC's ability to cool, as the air passing through gets heated, it's ability to cool will diminish, I'm sure there's a way to calculate this, from what I've read I'd estimate a 25% increase max. (it may be all you need though) The increase in depth will also add resistance to the air going through so that duct is going to be very important to add to this, the gap in between the two i can see causing turbulence and greatly contributing to this as the channels aren't continuous and may not perfectly align, the expansion of the now hot air into this void will also contribute to this turbulence I've often thought about if i'd ever had to go back to a side mount for defect/rego reasons, or even to minimise lag and pipework on a mostly stock setup, and I think I'd either go water-to-air intercooler where the air box is, with the radiator where the side mount is ($$$), OR I've read of people rigging up a water spray on the standard side mount at a certain RPM to increase the efficiency ($).
