  1. Your best bet would be to google the model of the stereo, then find the wiring diagram for it. Normally they are in the back pages of the manual. Best of luck.
  2. And here is the panels fitted to the car. I haven't had a chance to take it out, but I'm willing to bet that with the stereo and these panels the car is much nicer to cruise around in!
  3. I also made some progress regarding the awful fuel smells coming through the cabin. I replaced two missing panels inside the car with parts scrounged off the internet. One is the panel that seals the fuel tank/fuel pump from the boot area, the other is the removable panel between the cabin and the boot area. These two panels have been missing for my entire ownership. Time to add some weight back into the car... lol
  4. So, i did go and take photos of the stereo. But... there's really nothing to see. The most interesting part is probably the change of parcel shelf. Anywho here's the pictures. (Yes, I know they're terrible).
  5. You found me! That's awesome. You might be the first person to actually follow a link i've sent to them! As you can see from some of the images in this thread, the car's worst point is its exterior. The interior and engine bay are crazy clean. And you're absolutely right, it's a very different experience owning this one vs the blue car. I'm not afraid to get stuck into the LM and drill holes or improve it as I feel it needs, whereas this car, kids gloves all the time.
  6. Is this a car with an electronic odometer or a mechanical one? If it's electronic, you could have suffered from a rollback situation, if it's mechanical i'd lean more toward a failing odometer than anything else.
  7. I'm sorry to say you look like you might be in a spot of bother. Your rails are in a very bad way and should be looked at by a professional workshop (if possible who are familiar with old Nissans). You also appear to have a significant amount of rust under the car, which may also be part of the issue (if we exclude the fact someone has used the incorrect jacking points. My advice here would be to have a workshop check it out. You may also have some difficulty in finding the correct jacking points as they may now be folded/damaged, if the other images you sent through are any indication. Have a quick look through the forum for a topic on how to jack up your car, hopefully someone has some images of a mint underside that you can use as a reference.
  8. I made myself sad, so I went down to Rose Street and took some photos with the other wagon;
  9. On the other end of the scale; By friend. I'll miss you.
  10. Absolutely gorgeous. You have done well. Congratulations. I really hope you enjoy your ownership and get to drive it an awful lot!
  11. I'm still voting for the blue one. Truth be told, i'm not a massive fan of black anyways.
  12. Yep, I have to agree with this statement. Get it looked over by your broker, they will know what they're looking at. And if you're using it primarily for racing you should be ok.
  13. Awesome car... but your brother looks a little young to have an R34! Welcome to SAU. You'll find nothing but love here for all Skylines!
  14. At this late stage of the GTR game, if you're in it for profit above all, you want the most standard car you can find in the best condition you can find. If you're thinking you will modify the car and do your own thing with it, go for a modified car that you can tailor to your liking. In answer to your question, Bayside blue it more Iconic but the V-SpecII should be a better car. Myself, i would take the V-Spec because I love the blue (unless there is a yellow or red one).
  15. I like where your head's at. This is actually a good way to think about it. You've cheered me up!
  16. I didn't know the inside of the doors played a role in the Aero!!! Hahaha
  17. I have two theories; 1. The hole-saw was blunt by this point. 2. They were attempting to compensate for the driver. Either one is full blown crazy! ?
  18. Guess whose already planning the panels he needs for when the car gets a full engine out, resto/paint job??? I also need a new wing base as mine is cracked. I need new brake ducts, and I need to have one of the jacking points, unfolded. Somehow this car continues to need work despite the fact it was "finished" 3 years ago. ?
  19. I was very, very unhappy when I saw this. Ashamed to say I absolutely lost my sh*t. Neighbors copped an earful of me, literally yelling at the car and complaining about humans in general. Still I felt a little better after. ? But seriously, unless it's a drift missile, who could be bothered? Just take out the passenger seat if you're that committed. It wieghs a ton, can be removed in 5 minutes flat! I don't get it.
  20. So, have been planning to put a stereo into my car since i bought it, just never had the time. Well last month i bit the bullet and got it done. I already had a semi-capable head unit, so left that in after a quick test. I purchased one set of 6.5" splits for the front, and a pair of 6.5 co-axials for the rear. They currently run from the head unit, but I will be putting an amp and sub in sometime next year to fill out the sound. The process of getting started was relatively straightforward. As a mid-30s guy, my first car was a Japanese hatchback. Turns out, all 90s Nissan's are put together the same way, so I had no troubles taking apart my interior. I took out the front passenger and rear seats, to make life easier. Same with the dash panel and gear lever surround. I find it easier to just remove things completely, than to try to negotiate around them. The first (and GIANT) issue was my doors. Someone has/had taken a bloody hole-saw to the door skin!!! Saving what i imagine to be approx 500-800grams from the cars total curb weight! Totally worth it in a 500kw car. Next I pulled out the old front speakers, one was not connected at all. Both were 6.5 component speakers, but there was no crossover or tweeter to be found. (no wonder they sounded terrible). I gave the front speaker cables a test (they both worked), then moved to the back of the car. I dodgied up some connections using solder (yeah I know, but it was just for testing), absolutely nothing. Moving to the head unit, i discovered that the rear speaker wires had simply been cut at the head unit. So to fix, I soldered in (I had no cirmps) about 10 cms (3") of wire. Problem Solved. I then created some speaker mount templates for the rear speakers and took my sweet time getting them bolted down and the speakers screwed to them. They are 100% not moving anywhere (good in an accident, also good for sound and no rattles). With the rears done, I could change over my parcel shelf, as I had the non-speaker grill unit previously. The speakers don't line up completely, but it's better than nothing. Moving the front splits, I couldn't bring myself to drill a hole in the door card or dash and didn't have a mounting point for the tweeter. So instead, I went full dodgy, ramped up the gain for the tweeter and set it into the door behind the door card. It worked surprisingly well... I put everything back together, ran the car and gave the stereo a test using none other than Sash!. It's a 90s car after all. I am very pleased with the stereo now, it plays music (a big improvement) and can be heard above the noise of the exhaust, turtbo, road, and fuel pumps. I'm calling this one a win!!! PS: I don't seem to have any pictures of the final product. I'll go take some shortly.
  21. Stock you say? Never heard of it! lol It looks like a good buy. I'm a big fan of that wing type you have. I am really enjoying seeing all the cars hit the US (even though there's less for us). It's cool to see so many people so passionate about these cars still! Hope to read more about your car in the future.
  22. Hi all who are on this thread (and anyone else reading this). Just a quick update to let you know i'm doing very well. Through time spent with my physiologist we've narrowed a couple of issues down and even managed to solve a couple. Most of my problems stem from communication,or lack thereof. I'm still working through it all, but there is a now a path to solving this. It helps that my work life has calmed down considerably and I am enjoying the work I am doing. It's wonderful to be respected and appreciated in the workplace again. As always, i'm here to chat if you like, and you can find me on the internet elsewhere without much difficulty if this isn't your preferred internet forum. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays if we don't chat before then!
  23. Hi all. Awesome to meet everyone. I had a great time talking cars and IT (seems like everyone here does IT!). NERDS! Can't wait to get more involved and hang out more often.
  24. The ultimate goal of GTR ownership!!! ?
  25. I have no idea, I think that the organisers went with a cool design for each of the trophies, they were all car parts mounted on these blocks of wood. There were some really cool ones made from spark plugs and rad caps.
