Sounds like a great car something you would really wanna hang onto. Just curious to know how you found the history on it considering the age of the vehicle. -

I went over coils and plugs nothing was wrong with them I went over a couple idea with the mechanic and he said it was common for the fuel pump to do such things, it was a big hesitation on acceleration and major bucking too, looked up a couple things on here and the few I looked at said fuel pumps to after they checked coils and spark plugs. I thought the battery may reset the ecu or clear code or do something

I recently purchased an r33 gtst series 1. Understood it needed abit of work to getting it up to a nice proud standard. Drove it for a month and noticed it was getting worse to drive so I changed back to the pulsar to drive, bought a couple thing to get back upto scratch, the first on the todo list was the fuel pump to stop the bucking when accelerating and to cut back on the fuel burn. Seen how to do it seemed simple enough, after doing fuel pump my car has not been able to start, cranks but no start. I have noticed a cat over heat light on when trying to start then once I stop it turns off and the check engine light comes on, can any one give me any ideas on how to fix this problem or any ideas on what this problem could be. Could it be in the rare occasion of a dodgey fuel pump? I haven't driven it in about 2 months and just want to go for a nice drive. Any help is appreciated.

Yer it does after it doesn't start, but the cat temp light turns off then. I just thought that would have been norm. What could that mean?

If I disconnect the battery for a few mins will that give it a reset, could that do any damage?
-
So I've taken it all back apart the pump really does turn on but just doesn't suck anything up could I have just got a dodger pump?
-
I haven't touched it so I wouldn't have a clue where it is but someone said it was the cat sensor when it gets to hot, it should. E ice cold.

So the petrol gauge went up off empty but still no start but I've got that cat over heat light still on when I try to start it. Does anyone know if that will stop it from starting, if so can I just simply take the fuse out or how can I resolve that, Tomoz arvo the fuel line comes off from the rail to double check fuel, and a new fuel filter also goes in Walst im there.

My current thought is that cause I left the tank lid off over night the tank is pre dry so Ima get some fuel in there and give it another shot. Stupid thing to do but that's about all I can think of.
