  1. Did you just suggest he short circuits the battery? You couldn't mean that...but I don't know what else you could mean?
  2. There's a tyre thread going on somewhere in here ATM...have a look around...
  3. "I pulled you over because you were doing 76 in a 60, while running a red light and sideways" errr I don't know about that.... "And your car is too low" Well I can tell you the car isn't too low, I have checked it (meanwhile when I got home I double checked and he was right...I guess losing some tread made all the difference) *breath test* "Ok, well let's agree that the light was yellow...and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on the height...keep this *breathiliser pipe* that is 100mm, if that can touch the car, it's too low. I will let you off on breaking traction *notice he changed his terminology from 'sideways' to 'breaking traction' * ok thankyou *writes speeding fine* -------------- For the record - I wasn't sideways - I broke traction a *little* just before I changed gears (turning + hit full boost with not much tread) - The light was yellow, but it was very close - I can't argue speed, cause my speedo was dead (ironically the reason I was driving is cause I was on my way home to fix the dam speedo!) But I didn't mention it to the cop. I wasn't sure if he'd just have another thing to pin on me - The car is too low buy about 5mm at one point (part of zorst) and I am going to be fixing that when I have the money (different springs) All in all he was really decent about it, I thought I was in a LOT more trouble. There are some nice cops around. Meanwhile I got done again on the way home from work in my other car only a week later, and now if I do anything wrong for the next 2 years i lose my license the 2 speeding fines (exceed by less than 15kms) racked up to 6 points, I only had 8 to start with...doh. Oh well, my own fault isn't it.
  4. own group? how many do we need for that?
  5. Yeah he is... I got pulled over the other night, first thing he says is "you are being video and audio taped" If I do anything wrong in the next 2 years (when I get points back) I lose my license and thus my job
  6. What tracks are you using this time around?
  7. OK, I fixed mine over the weekend... The plastic match stick thingy was the problem. I had to glue it together again, as it was cracked as others have mentioned. I then had to *force* it rather hard to have it attach to the cable. The speedo worked until I spun my wheels...it died again. So I pulled it apart, but this time I put a bit of araldite *spelling* on the inside of the white match stick thingy, and rammed it it again, and left it a few hours. I have done about 200kms and it's still working, so looks like I fixed it
  8. as I said, it was just suggested to me by a friend (that's what his cost for a cordia) I will check it out when I get the money tho
  9. Pm Sent - Money Transferred Chris
  10. :innocent: ahaha I will post up my results. I hope to fix it this weekend
  11. Hey Fatz, me + atleast 1 is a definate (SAU username 'Footy') I have sent an email to get some more info. Cheers Chris
  12. Payment Details please? I will probably order today so I can get it installed for next weekend (going in a motorkhana, need to change oil...be good to not have to do the oil again straight after the motorkhana!) I am just going to research any issues with not having the thermostat before I buy. Anyone having links to such threads, please post them here EDIT - For others information - Seems the general view is that a thermostat is not required in a climate such as Australia. Only where it is very cold/snow conditions. The problem with not having the thermostat is that the oil is always going through cooler, and may not heat up, thus causing damage to engine. However in Australia it will still warm up even if its going through the cooler all the time!
  13. Better question : RW or AWD ? I'd take the rotor cause I'd prefer a RWD.
  14. gR33ddy - Just a few questions, some have already been partially answered, but with the group buy not being a group buy I am confused. 1) So you have them in stock? (or atleast ability to ship straight away) 2) What is expected delivery time from me depositing money? I live in Newcastle, NSW (You said roughly 5 days above..still apply?) 3) Any probs with it fitting an R32 GTST 4) Is it an Australian supplier? 5) Is it possible to get a thermostat model -> How much/Do the above questions still apply to it or will it be different? 6) Did you get pics of your install? Cheers Chris
  15. I am also interested if Melb buyer falls through. I might pay $600 I live in Newcastle, NSW though, so it would still be a post job for you... Can you get any pics? If so -> [email protected] Is there any damage to them?
  16. ahh pineapples. now that makes sense Why don't they call them that ! haha I figured the notlec stuff would be kinda a waste. Well it's only an extra $100ish to go with whiteline over pedders stuff, so I guess I should do that Do you think it's a good idea to look at different springs first? What springs do you usually recommned to people with stock suspension? Keep in mind I am on a budget, it has been suggested i could get king springs for $200ish all 4....that is do-able. Is it worth looking at new shocks as well? Or is that going to be too substantial cost? I will have to buy another standard shock anyways, cause one of the tops is stuffed, and if I take it off I'll have to grind the nut off.
  17. Talking to Noltec, these are my options from them. Option 1 Total $1000 ish parts ex GST N52088 - Adjustable upper arm $502.86 + GST N82481 - Caster Kit $180.00 + GST N62544 - Rear camber/toe kit (3 kits req.) $91.43 + GST per kit or $240 + GST Option 2 Total $1550 ish parts ex GST N52088 - Adjustable upper arm $502.86 + GST N82089 - Adjustable radius rod $630.00 + GST N62544 - Rear camber/toe kit (3 kits req.) $91.43 + GST per kit or $240 + GST They also recommended these...can someone tell me what this will do for me? N92447 - Subframe mounts $193.60 + GST Those prices is higher than what pedders would do it for using their own parts. Is there any reason to not use pedders? 18. interested in ARC cooler - Does it include pipes? Condition/pics - [email protected]
  19. How long was it since you started it last? I know you said you have left it a similar time period before, however you should start (and drive...not just let it idle) your car ATLEAST once a week. If you have a bigger/smaller battery than standard you may need to do it more or less often. I have had a battery last 6 months off a car, and still crank the car, but the same battery 2 weeks later (also been off the car) was dead as. They don't seem to be a sure thing. The amp would only effect it if either 1) it was faulty or 2) you wired it wrong, but since you say it turns off with ignition, 2 is not the case. So that leaves the amp is faulty, or the battery is..or there is something else in your system that is draining it. Grab a mulit meter and see if there is any power on the remote lead, at the amp, while the car is off.
  20. Are they new? How much do you want for them? Model numbers would be good so I can check them out.
  21. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...145#post1371145 Basically fix up the camber front and back, get some more castor. Maybe looking at raising the car a bit as per SydneyKid's reccomendation
  22. Hmmm my cable must be snapped. The only part of the cable I can see is about 2mm out of the sheathing, and I can't see anyway to get to it. How can I get that white cylinder off? If I can get it off then I might have a chance.
  23. I thought it was illegal to display plates in the window anyways, regardless of whether you can see them or not. That was something I was told by my driving instructor (in 1997 / NSW) Of course 'everyone' does it, and usually gets away with it...but I was just saying.
  24. Gday Guys, What plugs are people using in their RB20DET? I have searched and could not find a copper option for the RB20. I was trying to avoid paying $26 per plug for the irridium option. Cheers Chris
  25. thanks. anyone else know of any?
