Ned, AFAIK I have an 89 aswell! Altho it took me 3 months to get Just cars to ensure it, cause they wanted to make it a 90 model.
-
Pete, I emailed you, guess you missed it... Can you confirm that you received my payment please? I tried drifting at the motorkhana on the weekend and sucked majorly, do you have prizes for worst entrant? haha Looking forward to it

I can tell you that when I got mine done, mechanic used - RB30 water pump - Cam Belt - Whatever Nissan reccomended (it was genuine) The seals I left up to the mechanic to chase...same with bearings. The bearings were not in stock at CBC, he ended up having to get to sydney (live in newcastle) to find someone that stocked them. I plan to post up the part numbers, just I am never on the net at home...which is where the receipt is.

CA18 180sx is banned, but not the SR20 haha Also, 1990 R32's are banned, but not 1989s ? Are there actually 89 model R32s ?? Or are they 90 models, built in 89...either way, does this rule exclude them then?

gr33ddy - Please check your PM's regarding the Oil Cooler I ordered, you have been active since I PM'd you, So I am guessing you missed that you had new PM's. I need to sort this out ASAP. Cheers Chris -
duncan, go to battery world, get battery and alternator checked. It's quick, easy, free and will count out 2 of the most likley possibilities.

Hence the *chuckle* could it be fuel pump direct power (if you did it) did you use a relay? Check it's working correctly.

Yeah man, I am stalking you. I am after a burito that is REALLY hot eh!? Nah, I just hover mouse over posts, and this one said recently moved from newi...so i looked since it had newi involved. I went to kooragang a few times with mates (i was stuck in their car) and we were there for an hour and there was only 1 race...about 50 cars tho...just no1 would race, most were there in excels anyways. hahahaha gold.
-
I'd be intersted in knowing where this area is. If it was kooragang, then you're crazy, cops are always there, its rough...trucks turning...I reckon it's gotta be one of the worst places to go. Then again I guess old habbits die hard, it's been the local spot for so long! haha PM me the location if it wasn't kooragang you refered to.

24 R32 GTST 4 Dr Standard except Zorst/wheels $808 3rd party property fire and theft @ just cars Lifetime maximum NCB. No At fault accidents or license cancelations. I had one not at fault accident (chick rear ended me at round about) I wanted comprehensive, but cheapest I got was $1800 with the maximum NCB at famouscarinsurance. Just Cars wanted $2700 with the maximum NCB. Neither would insure for more than $10,000 as that is the market value (says them) I tried across 4 months and the above is my best offers, I had a lot worse from the same campanies. They were aware that it was mostly a weekend driver, not a daily driver. It is garaged at all other times. I am not in a high risk area (country...about 40 mins from newcastle) I will try again once I am 25. Oh, and it took me about 5 phonecalls to Just Cars to get someone that would agree that a 1989 R32 existed. Everyone else said they didnt start till 1990. I had them telling me about "we are import specialists, and they did not start until 1990...if it is a 1989 model it is an R31" The way I got it done was I eventually got a girl, I guess she was new, or didn't have the knowledge to argue it, so she went to her boss or whatever. The other times were guys that obivously knew everything.

Yeah 13v is kinda low i woulda thought 14v when running, 12 without. Also, if you want to test the battery, put voltmeter on it...watch it...get mate to crank engine, if it drops below 10v when it cranks time for a new battery. Start it up, drive to batrery world and ask if they can test the battery and the alternator for you..it's free.... dont forget if u r getting 13v.....when u turn on the lights, a/c, neons? subs etc etc it will drop more, so you need to test it with those things running.

/me votes for it to be pinned, so long as gojira is willing to keep it updated

the torrents have been out for a few days.

Yeah we can't see the manifold being the issue, just it's the only recent mod he has done (Cept suspension, but one would hope that doesnt effect the engine! haha) I never thought of the Cat. We'll have to check that out. THanks
-
He had the battery disconected for a day, So I am guessing that will reset it? To my knowledge, he DIDNT use the brake pedal in this time. I am pretty sure he has the issue on standard boost aswell...But I will let him respond to that. If anyone has ideas, just throw them at us, cause we will try everything we can tonight as the motorkhana is tommorow.

Nissansilvia.com -> In my experience it's more hassle than it's worth. He is also a member there, I will leave it to him to post up there if he wants to. psybic-> As far as I know, he has been running the car fine on this setup for atleast 1 year (closer to 2 I think) He recently change the exhaust manifold, but I am pretty sure the rest has been the same for a long time. So it is a problem that has just occured, seems wierd that its a fuel mix issue...unless the puta crapped itself. Either way, I'm sure he will see your post tonight and consider it. I know he wanted to get it on the dyno, but didn't get the chance as yet. And we have the motorkhana on Saturday, so trying to sort that out, as ATM it stuggles to spin wheels in a slide apparently. Cheers Chris

Gday Guys, I am posting this up for a friend (username Footy) As he doesn't have net access at work, and wants to get some ideas so he can fix the car before the weekend. 93 180sx sr20det with usual mods: zorst, pod, cooler, and a few others. basically it has no power, turbo boosts fine guage shows heaps of boost in the manifold, but the car just doesnt pull hard. heaps slower then a standard 180sx when i am running .9 bar. it bogs down slightly after u shift but after that revs normally but is just gutless, doesnt miss or spluter doesnt blow noticeable amounts of smoke. things i have tried: replaced fuel pump/filter and fuel reg. check intercooler pipes for leaks etc. replace ego sensor. replace afm. compression test engine 150-160psi on all cylinders. replace spark plugs. adjust ignition timing. clean air filter. i am starting to think it could be a ecu issue. do these have a limp home mode or something like that which it could be in and if so how can i reset it? i have a stainless zorst manifold which i have wraped with heat insulating tape, has anyone heard of this causing bad performance? i cant think of why it would. any other suggestions? thanks Chris.

Hey guys, After a set of rims for drifitng, don't care what they are so long as the fit the GTST. Won't pay more than $300 for the set, unless they are Volk GTP's or CV Pros. With or without rubber. But they'd have to be well under $300 if they don't have rubber. Prefer local area (within 2 hours drive of newcastle...so as far as sydney / port macquarie) Cheers Chris

this is one reason I am not too keen on drift days. I know my mates will keep their distance, but I don't know others. As I said we will have atleast 3 ppl I know in our group, so we should be sweet. How many incidents have you guys had on practice days due to idiot drivers (as opposed to just going into a wall or whatever - which is obviously your own fault) Or is everyone pretty sensible about driving close? I mean its not a race day, only practice....
-
I like that plan! That way I don't have to worry about people I don't know getting anywhere near my car...only my mates! Hmmm well we will have atleast 3...I guess I might just have to make 2 new friends on the day. I will be paying this week, just waiting to get paid.

Don't know current models, but last year, JVC slaughtered the competition cause of it's features for the price. Most my friends run either JVC or pioneer. I run JVC on my good system, and pioneer on my crap system. The JVC is much better. It feels better made (buttons etc) All my friends that have had both systems agree. JVC are also really easy to use - great layout. Pioneer tend to be a bit wierd in it's layout, but you get used to it. If I replace the pioneer I wouldn't consider anything other than a JVC due to my previous experiences. I hate Sony with a passion. haha Can't stand them.
