Guys, How can I tell if my bushes are stuffed? What bushes are there that I can change myself, and needs to go to a shop? (ie. requires a press or something) I can't feel any movement in any of the bushes, I can't see any sign of wear. But my rear end is loose while driving. Below is a thread where I am discussing my problem, however I thought a new thread for the bush checking would be good as I couldn't find a thread elswhere, I am sure others will find it useful too. Cheers Chris http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...20#entry1538236

ok i got the driveshaft out tonight. now it is out, i can move it that 3mm i was talking about. the movement is at CV joint - Nearest to the wheel. So I am guessing there shouldn't be movement there? Any threads on replacing CV joints? ? I couldnt find any of use I really can't see this being the problem. The drift shaft seems to have no effect on the problems I describe. Just looking at it, it doesnt support the wheel or suspension at all, even if its loose, its just making the wheel turn. I am only learning and guessing, but I can't see it being the problem.

Thanks Predator, but Can I suggest that if you are going to reply to ideas to fix my problem that you put it in the other thread to keep it tidy please? Just keep this thread for the question asked - ie. suspension components, That said, don't think I dont appreciate the help To answer you question- I will be checking out the HICAS, however the problem is that I don't know what to look for...I will look, probably tommorow night, and see if I can tell, but since I dont know what a working one looks like...I may not know what a non-working one looks like Seems like I will have to learn about HICAS and diffs while I am at it! Cheers Chris

Hey Guys, I searched and didn't find what I needed ,please link me if this exists already. I am just trying to find out what sort of suspension the r32 gtst has. Then I want to understand all the bits in there (pics most likely needed) Baiscally I have to try and work out an issue, and I don't know the names of parts, So it would be good to actually be able to ask on here about certain parts instead of "that thing in that place" I never ended up fixing the camber issues I planned to cause I ran out of money, but perhaps now I may need to replace bushes anyways. This is the thread with my problem if you wish to check it out/help http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...dpost&p=1537049 Cheers Chris

Yeah, well I am gonna get the car up on stands tonight or tommorow. I don't get home from work in time to get it to a shop, and I can't take it to work to do on lunch break. And my saturdays are booked unti October. So I guess I gotta find it myself. I did a motorkhana on the weekend, and it has gotten worse (not suprising huh?!) So yeah, lucky it's not my daily driver. I am gonna search, but if anyone has links to pulling out suspension/control arms etc, or even what parts are what, I'd appreciate it. I know nothing about the suspension componants...but I will by next week it seems! Cheers Chris

thanks guys havnt been to a specialist. I can't get it to one until the weekend, and this weekend I am driving in a motorkhana...if i decide it is safe. so it will be next weekend

Ok, I can move the shaft that runs from the Diff to the wheel. I can move it in/out of the wheel/diff about 3mm The left hand side is solid as. Would this be the problem? Any ideas how to fix it? Cheers Chris

I am after the driver side electric window contorls (the unit that can control all 4 windows) After the whole assembly (but not wiring) Only interested if they are all working. How much ? Cheers Chris

where are you located?

Quite possible aswell, Although I couldn't see any damage. I will try to get time to get it to a suspension shop. But I can't see it happening for atleast 3 weeks So any more ideas I can do at home is appreciated

Ok I will try to get someone to follow me. Can anyone tell me how to tell if the bushes are shot? Is it painfully obvious?

Hey Guys, I went drifting on the weekend at wakefield. My car now is 'wobley' in the rear end. I don't notice it on smooth road. I only notice it when I hit a bump like where they have re-tarred a section, so it's a bit higher. The car seems to woble/bounce at the rear. Can you throw some ideas my way as to what I should be looking for. Things I have thought of; Diff cradle loose - Checked it Bushes - I looked, but I have no idea how to tell if they are dead? Advice please? Loose suspension componants - I checked underneath the car, I will check the top of the suspension tonight - HICAS - I still have it...the light isnt on, but perhaps it has something to do with it? - Perhaps the shock is stuffed? And it's just bouncing around from a hit in the road - ie no damper?? Maybe I can get a free suspension check or something? Cheers Chris

Hey Guys, I was just looking at threads I have posted up on for DIY stuff with pics, and the attached pics are gone. Will they be coming back or will I need to upload them again? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=69151&hl= Is the main one Cheers Chris

Use gears. As others have said, you can slow down quicker if need be and can get out of the way quicker. Last thing you want to do is have to stumble around to find the right gear to avoid an accident. Coasting at a decent speed is a bad idea IMO.

Awesome thanks. I thought it might have been that, but since it was just empty, I figured it wasn't. I guess if it's left empty it must default to RB25 -

Hey Guys. Problems - Why does it say I have an RB25 near where my avitar would be? Can I change it? Ideas - Previously in search you could search a username, but you could search just "threads started by this user" Can we have this back? I know most boards don't have the feature, but I love that SAU has it, especially when you know you have answered a question someone else asked, it makes it easier to find your tutorial thread. Cheers Chris -
You could try this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=69151&hl=

that sux big time. Sounds like a continuation from the ToyShop breakin last month. They also stole bits for a rb26 - cams etc i think I know all the shops I have been to have something like "all items left on premises are at own risk"
