  1. I cant see the auto being very fun to drive in a car with a peaky high strung NA v6. Once again havent driven one, but my Soarer is fkn crap to try and have fun with with the auto, always feels like the diff ratio needs to be 1 full point shorter. But it is a whale compared to an NSX. Actually my mate had a late model Prelude with Vtak yo and an auto, it was rubbish because the gear spread was too wide to keep the motor on the boil, im sure the NSX with a 4 speed auto would feel the same. I would hate to think what a manual conversion would cost on one lol.
  2. The tuner should be the one setting timing, not the engine builder, bit hard for an engine builder to set timing when he cant run the engine.
  3. This is exactly why Many brands of pistons for V8's dont give comp ratios, all they give is dome/dish volume pin height and bore. Its then up to the builder to work out what the chamber volume is with head gasket fitted /deck height etc. and then order pistons to suit the desired comp ratio
  4. Rekon there will a VIC defect staition waiting in Aubury Ash? Or possibly just before Shep on the highway lol. Better take a semitrailer load of standard exhausts, airfilters and wheels
  5. Hahah Yeah, I should have said exotic instead of supercar, yeah they do look the goods with the right gear on them. but Edit - Lol at highway partol
  6. what sort of figures did it make?
  7. Yes very interesting
  8. Why when I saw this thread did i know exactly what it would say.
  9. I followed it on and off (any time I remembered it) and yeah, knew it wouldnt be the classic DN3d, much like anything rehashed its never the same as the original/classic/cult version
  10. Shouldnt be glowing like that just crusing on the highway, as above what are your timing figures? Edit - 19 is no where near enough, Paul33 runs near 50deg I ran around 40-45 at low revs light load. The more retarded the timing the hotter the EGT's which is causing your glowing manifold
  11. What game ever has reached expectations though...Ive been dissapointed in every game released in the last few years and "any gamer" who was expecting DNF to be absolute top notch has their head in the clouds. Hell look at all the teaser videos...they told me staright away that the game was going to be a bit "meh" and wouldn't appeal to non Duke die hard Fans
  12. GTR PFC can be used on a GTS-t, there is a write up on th forums here somewhere on how to do it.
  13. Might be different in Vic but in NSW (a few years ago now) my mate had his rego cancelled because he did what Alex said, failed 1st inspection at joe bloggs, went elsewhere failed again, went back to the 1st place and passed, 5-6 months later he got a letter saying his rego was cancelled due to a failed inspection at the 2nd place, because different things were wrong/listed with the car compared to the 1st inspection (joe bloggs), So he had to get the car re-inspected. hope that makes sense...there are losts of 1st place 2nd place in there. Whether he was just unlucky and someone clued on at the RTA office stumbled across it or they actually go looking for it I don't know, but it can happen.
  14. I've always got sand in my vag Rich you should know this lol Nah I havent driven one, and I don't doubt they are a great car. But if it were me sitting at the lights in an NSX and a 348 pulled up next to me, I wouldnt be able to help feeling like I was missing something. But you are right there are a few (348's) on carsales up near 200k which is more than double NSX money. But yeah horses for courses I guess, no doubt the Honda's are WAAAAAAAYYYYYY better built than even the current Italian cars. Much the same for me, I like my Soarer way more than my old Skyline simply because its better built. Anyway not trying to start a fight, just offering an option/opinion
  15. Technically you can't as a copy of the inspection goes to the rta/Vic roads
  16. Technically you can't as a copy of the inspection goes to the rta/Vic roads
  17. Are you 100% sure its #3 even after changing the plugs around? I see you say it has spark, but is it a bright/strong spark? for 30 bucks I would just chuck a set of new copper plugs in, even if its to eliminate any future problems
  18. I offer 50 baht
  19. Just like N1 oil pumps only break in VIC ...right?
  20. iphail4 wins again
  21. Vic section always brings teh Lulz....almost makes me want to move bad down there.... ...wait I got that last part wrong
  22. I don't mean to sound like a twat here, but have you thought about getting a real supercar? I know the NSX is a nice car...but really doesnt have much appeal anymore (well they never really did even when new), they are out gunned by the average flat cappin' 17yo in a S13, and as you have found most are in rubbish condition or Auto. For similar money you could grab a nice Ferrari 348 with the tasty sounding V8. Have a car that everyone will ogle etc, sure the Servicing might be a little more expensive than the Honda, but its not that hard to change the oil and plugs in them. The Italians almost figured out how electronics work by the 90's but once again its nothing a Soldering iron and some crimps couldnt fix. In fact I shall generalise here (and include the NSX) is that all the horror stories you hear about mid engined supercars (inc. the NSX) are all started by pompous twats who dont know which end the engine is in and only take their supercars to "specialist" mechanics because they dont believe their Ferrari,Porsche,NSX has anything in common with his Grandmothers Fiat/Civic/XM falcon. Which then causes the problems with 2nd hand cars because of all the "specialist mechanics" I have spoken to really dont have a clue and their background in mechanics is that they build a model ferrari with their grandfather one Boxing day and a tafe certificate that says they can swing spanners.....they also have to be greedy dream boats and be convincing enough to talk rich twats into thinking $10k for a headlight globe and and oil change is normal for a "special" car.
  23. Let me rephrase...Development on DNF started around 11 years ago. By a company going broke (3d Realms)...then proceded to go broke...5/6 years later it (3d Realms) was bought out and DNF was released with only a few minor changes to that 11 year old game. So by all accounts it should have been released 2002/2003 and would've been on par with games of the time. I havent bought the game simply to preserve my memories of DN 3D, because after playing all the console versions of the game PS1 and PS2 etc they were rubbish
