Yes it will Factory pistons can only handle so much combustion pressure, same with rods, bearings etc. these motors are nearly 20 year old and most will have over 200,000ks so getting near rebuild time at factory power levels, and well past it when they are making double the factory power. Sure you could build a 1000hp rb25DE run it once on the dyno for a number and then never go past 3000rpm ever again and it will last quite a while. But what is the point in that?

I guess you live in one of the states the doesnt allow v8's in LC/LJ Rana's anymore? I have seen plenty of Blown red motors...and I can think of only one that goes ok and even then it breaks all the time. My advice would be a 265 valiant 6 with injection. I can tell you now that you could spend 20k on a blown red motor and you still wont be as quick as the Mopar 6

Cold mornings mean the motor will be running quite rich untill it is properly warm, It would be miss firing because it cant burn the all the fuel. How long since you have changed the plugs, they are probably starting to foul up.
